Asli Johnny aka Jaaani // The OG Dev Anand . Sampled these sounds from a scene in Johnny Mera Naam ———————————————————————Been a min since I’ve been in this room. Over a month since I’ve had even a day here. I finally managed to steal a few precious hours and I came to realise how much the instrument has to give. You could not be playing for a bit , all rusty but the joy it brings is still unmatched. Having said that, this relationship exists in a space and can grow when it’s both ways. It is a two-way street. It requires time and effort, like any other connection. The more we invest, the more we receive in return. It would be wrong to say that these experiences and riyaz are isolated entities. All a part of the same process. Growth and progress are by-products of this processYet, amidst all the give and take of life, there are only a few things that give unconditionally. One of them, of course, being my kit. The other exception being my mother (with an exception tho) - she simply wants her dabbas back (bless her heart!) Another one that ll be part of the sample library. I first had this groove in mind with claps as downbeat layers. But that day one MMT acoustic tile decides to break off from the ceiling and fall on my headPicked up the @vicfirth dreadlocks,set up the tile on a snare stand and voila! Got that perfect scratchy texture I wanted.
