Bit by bit… I’ve bought a load of kit from @l4performance during the last four or so months and I am currently playing around with pouch placement (this is still very much a WIP). Key pieces are their Maritime L4PC + LAVS with Triangle side armor and other pieces from them, plus the LCA with the level 3A insert and more pouches and stuff from L4P. Will need a couple of L-size GP pouches from @varusteleka once they release the M05 versions (placed on the LCA on both sides of the buddy IFAK, etool/shovel will be placed elsewhere), set up the IFAKs, I also need to figure out where to place my ESK (emotional support knife). 😅 The aim of this project is to create a functional loadout for an assaulter/infantry rifleman role based on learnings from Ukraine and what a Finnish infantry reservist might need in a similar role for training as I would fight. Still ways to go but it is a start, at least. ;)

After that? ”Finalize” pouch placement, add a few grenade pouches from @savotta_military , etc.

Oh, also, will add more soft armor, have some ideas for that but need to do a bit of research/design as none of the belly/dick flaps on the market feel quite right functionality-wise. Well, that is for another day. #M05 #l4performance #MaritimeL4PC taken in Helsinki by @dhruan

Nice comfort improvement with the @l4performance structural shoulder pads. They make my Savotta Jääkäri M, my old (since 2018) trusty EDC mainstay, quite a bit nicer to carry especially with more weight in the backpack but with negligible added weight and bulk. Dinner yesterday: Korean Gochujang chicken with green bellpepper, spring onions, snap peas, and extra chilies in the mix plus japanese shortgrained rice… 🔥 It was the first time I’ve used gochujang paste, cooking it with fresh ginger and garlic, mirin, etc., transformed it into something quite addictive, suuuuper tasty and hot. Leftovers today the same but with steamed and fried ginger pak choy <3 by @dhruan

Lunch today @ Mango Palace in Hakaniemi, one of my favourite local (aka. near the office) lunch spots. Approaching a proper amount of heat with the fresh green thai chilies as a topping… I really like their taste 🔥 by @dhruan

I love cooking Japanese and Japanese-inspired food. Clean and wonderful flavors, their often simple presentation hiding depth and complexity. 39 cm hangiri soaking for first use (wash + water and rice vinegar mixture soak). Excited to try this one out having previously used glass casserole dishes or metal bowls and such for making shari. @andoandoando_design this should hold enough for a proper chirashi sushi feast at some point? :D taken in Arabianranta by @dhruan

Bought this #Malekko B:ASSMASTER last Sunday. In really good shape and for not that many monies, to boot. 🙃 I already knew there were goodies inside, got to have a look as I had to open the box to tighten the loose power jack nut. Fun! 🙂 Also, that 9V battery socket is a nice added bonus, didn’t know it came with one…

For synths alone, this is a really nice effects pedal for creating droney industrial landscapes. I’ve been feeding my ASM Hydrasynth KB through it (in mono but with some added FX in the DAW). Add an octave or two higher pad or melody/progression over it, and then bang some drums, and we are in martial industrial territory. It is good for adding a nice amount of character and color to things on the somewhat more subtle end of things (but also great for more harsh stuff). Still scratching the surface with it though… taken in Arabianranta by @dhruan

The latest addition to my slowly growing flock is indeed a Pelikan, but not a fountain pen.

I found this vintage Pelikan Graphos pen stand online. After a short negotiation with the seller and subsequent payment it was on its way to its new home.

It joins the already existing Günther Wagner/Pelikan pen stands from between the 1930s to 1950s which now number five.

The design is a bit different from the others: the trumpet-shaped part that holds the pen does not have the four internal lengthwise ribs, but the opening is a bit smaller instead. You can absolutely use it with Pelikan fountain pens of that era (and the modern ones too up to M400 size) though.

This brings me one step closer to acquiring all of the variants. I am currently missing two, a gold-black version (silver-black is shown in the picture above) and red (to go with the 101N/101Nf).

Then there are the ones with intact retail packaging, and the gift set box that a stand was included with… but I do not put much hope in acquiring those, well, not anytime soon, at least… 😅
