Church street casuals In a room full of 🥼 💀 Grateful to have been part of the VOERIC Roundtable – Protecting Those Who Protect Our City, hosted by VAAYU Chest & Sleep Specialists. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ravindra Mehta (Founder & Director, VAAYU Chest & Sleep Specialists) for bringing together such an incredible group of people around this important issue. Special thanks to @srinualav and @anmol_240695 for this opportunity to be included, and even through the volunteering back then, guiding me, and mentoring throughout the process. Also, a big thank you to all the volunteers who contributed to the clinic’s screening efforts and helped make this initiative possible. @harshitha_kowlagi on the lead, @jasminta_waghmare @xmeg.s @teeejjjjjjjj @snigdhakashyap_ @ulhaas_divakar @rayann.syedd @anish_smh @yuktha @bishan_mandanna_ @ananya__ It was truly an honour to be in a room with distinguished leaders and experts, including: • Dr. C. N. Manjunath (MP, Bengaluru Rural; Former Director, Sri Jayadeva Institute) • Dr. Vivek Jawali (Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Bengaluru) • Dr. G. Gururaj (Former Director, NIMHANS; Public Health Specialist) • Prof. Dr. Gufran Beig (Professor, National Institute of Advanced Studies – NIAS) • Kalpana Kar (Urbanist and Philanthropist) • Dr. K. S. Satish (Senior Pulmonologist) • Dr. Alan Godfrey (Dean, St. Joseph’s School of Social Work) • Sweta Raghavan (Health Advisor, Government of Karnataka) • Pawan Mulukutla (WRI India) • Hrishi Parthasarathy (Chief Strategy and Programs, Azim Premji Foundation) We have laws and policies in place, but the real question is whether they are making a difference in our everyday lives. We need accountability, effective implementation, and action beyond discussions. An incredibly enriching experience, and a reminder that meaningful change begins when people from different fields come together to address the challenges facing our city. Here’s hoping we move from awareness to action for a healthier Bengaluru. by @dhruvnk3
Been seeing and ignoring this for months now. It’s time to fix this spot. Spot can be fixed not only by painting and cleaning, but by getting residents to put waste into their autos directly. Not dump at a place. Auto not coming in front of your house? Send a message on DM. I’ll help you get the auto in front of your house. No excuses to throwing waste outside ! #landfill #waste #sustainability #bengaluru #krishnabyregowda by @dhruvnk3
I have been observing lot of VIPs think waste is not a problem n Segregation is not their responsibility. Kindly understand Money may not save us at some point, suffering with health issues become unavoidable. Kindly respect Rules , respect Mother Earth, Respect people working in waste. 1 If your family is VIP family request atleast youngsters to take responsibility. 2 Your elected representative is segregating or not, pls check n convince them to segregate, tell people are watching by @dhruvnk3
A little late in sharing this, but here’s a memory from PRERANA-2026 On August 29th, I had the opportunity to address around 50–60 active volunteers as part of the session “Volunteers to Change Makers.” I spoke about something I strongly believe in — volunteering is not just about giving your time; it is about identifying opportunities to create change and having the courage to act on them. I shared my own journey of building the Zero Waste Collective, working towards a cleaner and more responsible Kadalekayi Parishe, getting involved in traffic and mobility initiatives, and most importantly, learning to make use of the people, platforms and resources available around us. The message was simple: don’t wait for the perfect opportunity to volunteer. Build one. Don’t be afraid to start small, ask questions, reach out to people, and use whatever resources you have to create an impact. It was wonderful interacting with a group of young volunteers who are already doing their bit and are eager to take that next step from being volunteers to becoming change makers. Thank you to the PRERANA team for inviting me and to every volunteer who participated with such enthusiasm. Looking forward to seeing the ideas and initiatives this group takes forward. #PRERANA2026 #VolunteersToChangeMakers #YouthForSeva #Volunteering #CommunityImpact ZeroWasteCollective KadalekayiParishe Bengaluru Seva by @dhruvnk3
Bengaluru’s waste gang has been at it for the past few months. But why? Because we believe the city needs something that already works in traffic — people. Just like Traffic Wardens, we need Waste Marshals — more citizens, more volunteers, recognised by the city and the Corporation, and eventually an official body that can work alongside the system to improve segregation, collection and cleanliness. Something along the lines of the Traffic Warden model by Bengaluru City Police Traffic Wardens. This week, 250+ citizens came together at Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium to meet KBG @krishna_byregowda and have what I thought was a genuinely useful conversation about Bengaluru’s waste problem. What stood out to me was that the discussion began with acknowledging the problem and the gaps in the existing system. This wasn’t just another speech or a list of complaints. It was a solution-focused conversation — about what citizens can do, what the Corporation needs to do, and where the two can work together. The idea of a recognised volunteer network is only a first step. We are still waiting to see how this translates into action on the ground and how it is formally instituted. But did we manage to convince the Minister that citizens are ready to step up? I think we did. The city’s waste problem is too big for the Corporation alone. And citizens cannot simply be spectators either. So, what should Bengaluru do next? How can we make citizen participation in waste management actually work? And yes — I made it to the newspaper too. Catch me in today’s article. #waste #bengaluru #krishnabyregowda #gba #bswml by @dhruvnk3
Just Glasses I have but soooo useful to stop Single use paper cups n plastic glasses. 50 steel glasses could serve water for 10,000 people during Ganesha celebration. 250 +200(HCF )glasses used in another Ganesha utsav where 2000 people had ಬಾಳೆ ಎಲೆ ಊಟ. Such a great Investment. Do every work as a worship. by @dhruvnk3

BEDA BRO, BEDA BRO! 🚫 TUNNEL BEDA BRO! Today, I joined thousands of Bengalureans at Lalbagh to stand together against the proposed Tunnel Road and the move that could allow precious parkland to be diverted for infrastructure. This isn’t about being against development. This is about asking: what kind of development does Bengaluru actually need? A ₹40,000-crore tunnel road for cars — or more buses, better public transport, Metro expansion, safer walking and cycling infrastructure, and a city where people come before private vehicles? With the same ₹40,000 crore, we could theoretically buy around 40,000 Volvo AC buses or nearly 26,700 electric RTC/BMTC buses — without even counting operating costs. Bengaluru doesn’t need more ways to move more cars into the city. Bengaluru needs more ways for PEOPLE to move. And Lalbagh isn’t vacant land waiting to be used. It is our lung space. Our heritage. Our biodiversity. Our public commons. Not 5%. Not 1%. Not one inch of Lalbagh. 🌳 Development should not mean destroying the very city we are trying to develop. Beda bro, beda bro. Tunnel beda bro. Ulisi ulisi Lalbagh ulisi. 🌳❤️ #BedaBroBedaBro #TunnelBedaBro #SaveLalbagh #Lalbagh #Bengaluru Bangalore NammaBengaluru PublicTransport BMTC Metro SustainableBengaluru WalkForLalbagh SaveBengaluru BengaluruNeedsBuses by @dhruvnk3
