I finally have some strength to post this, but it hurts. There was never a dull moment when I’d visit on the weekends at moms on Dogwood until I started living there. Walking you home from Edwin Rhodes, doing homework together and straight to play time. This one kid pushed you one time and I stepped in to protect you. You still wanted to be friends with him, and allowed him to play football with us again. You were such a kind and gentle boy to everyone that’s hurting around you.

We’d go to the park, you’d wear your rollerblades, and I’d be on your slow ass skateboard, and that’s when you started to realize your love for hockey. Soon after you and your dad would go to the ice rink and you were on ice skates doing your thing. Our childhood days we got to experience a lot of first time discoveries about ourselves. You were a big light in my life during my dark childhood days.

Your teenage years you got into paint-balling and you tried to teach me how rapid shoot with a double trigger and I just couldn’t get the hang of it. There was one thing about you is that you never gate kept anything you felt passionate about. and I remember when you got your license, you got it in your Miata. I came right over after and you took me on a spin… literally lol. I was so damn proud.

In our adult years, you’d talk to me about girlfriend things, and soon led up to opening up about your emotions on life and people. I’m glad I was your safe space for the time I could be. I truly did the best I could for you baby bro. No one will ever understand the depths of our relationship because they didn’t see it. Im going to miss our conversations at the table when I’d come over to eat, and you’d just sit and talk to me while mom was upstairs. I remember you telling me, no one is ever going to understand how it is to be us but that’s what we just got to be is, us. I miss you every fucking day. We kept shining for each other because as kids we only had each other for a while. Now that you’re gone, I feel like a big part of my light is gone. You were my safe space in this family. Six months of “Rebellion Thingz” led us to this moment. Six months of every early morning, every late-night practice, every bruise, every tear, every ounce of blood, sweat, hard work and mastering the DETAILS has led to this moment—playing on the biggest stage at @thestarinfrisco in the @wnfcfootball IX Cup Championship Game. 🏈

This game has given me so much more than memories. It has taught me patience when things didn’t happen on my timeline. It taught me that growth happens in the dark, long before anyone sees the results. I learned that working in silence is far more powerful than making noise for others to hear. The work speaks for itself.

Through every challenge, I’ve grown not only as an athlete but as a person. I’ve learned resilience, discipline, humility, and what it truly means to trust the process.

As we prepare to compete for a championship, I can’t help but reflect on the women standing beside me. These aren’t just remarkable athletes. They are warriors. They are family. They are my sisters in arms. And I would go ten toes down with each and every one of them any day.

One more game. One more opportunity. One more chance to leave it all on the field… and we are here to give it our all and come out on top. 🏆

Too often we spend our days counting burdens instead of blessings. We sit so long in the weight of disappointment, heartbreak, stress, and uncertainty that we forget to look around at everything we still have. The love that still reaches for us. The people still standing beside us. The moments that still deserve gratitude.

Negativity has a way of shrinking our vision until all we can see is what’s missing, instead of the bigger picture — us, our growth, our purpose, and the life still unfolding in front of us. Some storms feel permanent while we’re inside them, but many things in life are temporary. Pain changes. Seasons shift. People evolve. Time moves whether we’re ready or not. And sometimes it costs us deeply when we take too long to recognize the beauty, love, or blessing that was already right in front of us.

And through all of that… thank you football. Thank you for giving me a brighter perspective on life. Thank you for teaching me how to get back up and keep fighting no matter how hard life hits. Football taught me that being knocked down is never the end — it’s temporary. The hard moments don’t define us, they prepare us. Every challenge, every loss, every bruise, every setback taught me that I can survive hard things and come back stronger because of them.

Thank you @sandiegorebellion and the family this game has given me. You all helped shape me into someone stronger than I ever thought I could become — mentally, emotionally, and physically. This sport gave me resilience, discipline, love, and a reminder that I never have to fight alone.

Never lose sight of the love around you. Learn when to lean on it, when to nurture it, and when to simply let yourself receive it. And sometimes, loving deeply also means understanding when it’s time to let go. But if we must let go, may we never fail to cherish what it was while it was here. Because even temporary things can leave permanent gratitude on our hearts.

Chapter 38.

Another page turns, and this chapter feels heavier, brighter, and more meaningful than the ones before it, realizing how incredibly blessed I am to still be here, still breathing, still growing, still loving.

This chapter elevates the gratitude in my heart in ways I never understood before. It sharpens the reminder that life is fragile, time is sacred, and presence is everything. This chapter is where my gratitude runs especially deep for all those who took the time to greet me for my birthday—every message, call, hug, and moment of acknowledgment felt like love wrapped in time.

Chapter 38 is about honoring those I’ve lost, cherishing those who walk beside me now, and not taking a single day for granted. I’m alive. I’m grateful. And I’m ready to keep turning the pages. 🙏💕 #january12 by @dhuynh88

I held on just a little longer. ❤️‍🩹

With one more month til the year ends, it would’ve been easier to just rot in the misery that comes with losing a loved one, losing in love and friendships, and losing physicality to an injury. Today, I chose to not give up in reclaiming my life I love. 🫶

Lost 20% of muscle mass. Lost 14 pounds, lost sleep and in a lot of parts lost my sanity.

NO MORE LOSSES. 🙅🏻‍♀️
IT STOPS HERE. 🛑

Recovery in anything can feel impossible. We can only be as strong as our mind, body, and soul allows us to be. So let’s stop limiting it just because we feel like it’s easier to do so.

I see the blessing in this injury, and I don’t take it for granted. 🤍

It isn’t easy starting from the basics, but life will tell you when it’s necessary.

If you’re feeling the burn out, take this as your sign to slow down. Get back to your baseline, and work your way back up. 💪
