It’s taken me so long to release this album that the guy I wrote it about managed to:

date another woman,
break up with her,
date ANOTHER woman,
get engaged,
get married,
and move to Canada.

I spent more time trying to release this album than I spent in the relationship it’s about.

Now my debut LP LETTERS TO L is finally yours.

The original version of this project was finished in 2023. I was supposed to release in 2024. Instead, I spent the next year (and some) fighting to get it back. Then we had to re-record stuff. The emotional support lawyer for this album deserves a production credit. I genuinely thought this might never come out.

I think it was worth the fight, I hope you do too.

This record is the most honest thing I’ve ever made. I unknowingly started writing this album when I was 18, I just turned 24. It’s about what happens when instead of putting faith in God, I put faith in a person. Each song is a letter to someone called L. It’s a vulnerable look into my experience of a relationship from beginning to end, moving from hope and desire to friction, distance and disillusionment, all the way to acceptance.

There’s a lot of people to thank for working on this project, but I want to especially thank @prodbypatris for working on this project with me start to finish. For producing 8/9 songs (and so many that didn’t make it), for creating a safe enough environment for me to pour this out and for turning my thoughts into sound. Thank you bro.

To @shogunshato for being the voice of L, may your tea cupboard never run dry.

And to @caledoniasound for believing in this and me enough to push it over the line.

Release day, people I love, songs that finally belong to everyone 💿

Here’s few moments from a night I’ll probably be thinking about for a long time ✨

There are songs you write to be heard, and there are songs you write because you don’t know what else to do with your heart. Almost every song on Letters to L was the second kind.

Last night we listened to the album together, talked about the stories behind it, sang a little, hugged a lot. Thank you to everyone who came out for listening, singing, crying, laughing and celebrating with me. Thank you to those of you who have streamed the album, shared it with a friend, sent me a message or simply listened. Every bit of support means more than you know.

Letters to L is finally out in the world, and you’re all finally having a look into mine 🤍

The last song we made together won a @youthmusicuk award so we figured it was only right to give you guys a sequel… “Dark Coffee” ft. @shogunshato is out now exclusively on Spotify ☕️

It’ll be dropping on ALL DSPs 17/07/26 as part of my album “Letters to L” ✉️

The story behind this song is crazy. It was finished a long time ago - same verses that you hear now, with a hook from one of my favourite Polish songs from the early 2000s. Produced, mixed, mastered and ready to go. And then just as we sent off the album to the label we found out we’d have to pay THOUSANDS to clear the sample. So instead of taking it off the album, we wrote a new hook, re-recorded our verses and brought in the band to record the live version all in a couple of weeks. So we present to you the new, live-inspired version of Dark Coffee.

I first wrote On The Inside in about 20 minutes, to a guitar loop that the mystery L himself had sent me, and then sent it to him as a sort of loveletter. This was only ever supposed to be a private voicenote to L.

I was 19 when I wrote this, sat in the bath in my old basement flat it Selhurst. I only recorded it in 2024 just before I turned 22 and now almost 5 years after I wrote it, and two years after I recorded it - it’s yours.
