in retrospect; certainly one of the years of all time by @dialvforvertigo

time after time, i’ve found that my favorite time of the semester is the 36 hours that the jazz ensembles come together to put on two amazing back to back shows.

i was fortunate enough to be able to grow among them, and for the first time, play bass. in those 36 hours, i got to learn more about every band member, and share a bunch of laughs, memories, and a ton of new music.

to my band: there is no greater honor than being your bassist. i’m flattered by the ways i was entrusted to guide you all. we all came a long way from where we started this semester. and even if i could go back and not break my water bottle, i wouldn’t change a thing with regards to how our time together turned out.

and to our director (and my bass instructor): thank you for having our backs; especially mine. you are such an amazing role model, and i hope we can follow in your footsteps.

i am so proud of each and every one of you !! i may not have been there to hear each rehearsal, but i was there for the fantastic end result. i’ve watched some of you grow as musicians not only throughout the semester, but throughout the years (and it makes me a little weepy thinking about it).

even if my major classes keep preventing me from joining the band every other semester, know that my heart will always be here – with you, with the music. i love you all <3 taken in University of Massachusetts Boston by @dialvforvertigo
