Halfway through the year.

20 slides. Countless frames. Products built. Products shipped. A few redesigned... because "one last change" somehow had 17 versions. 😂

Every sprint sharpened the craft.
Learning. Refining. Shipping.

Nobody books a flight expecting lost luggage.
But airlines built baggage claim anyway. ✈️ 🧳

That’s the whole point of fail-safe design.
And honestly, it’s what separates good designers from great ones.

We spend so much time perfecting the happy path…
The onboarding flow.
The checkout screen.
The “everything went right” moment. ✨

But real users?

They misclick.
Their WiFi dies. 📶
They fill out a form wrong… and lose everything.

And the product just… stares back at them. 😐

That’s the gap.

Google “Undo Send” wasn’t born from a feature request.
It came from imagining the panic of hitting send too early and designing a safety net to catch that fall. 🛟

That’s the mindset shift:
Design for the fall, not just the flight.

Empty states that guide users forward. 🧭
Error messages that actually make sense.
An undo button before the user even knows they need it.

Because the products people trust…

aren’t the ones that never break.

They’re the ones that handle breaking with grace. 💡

A few years ago, @amazon taught the UX world a huge lesson… with one tiny button.

Users were abandoning their carts, not because they didn’t want the items, but because one word scared them:

“Register.” 😬

It felt like pressure.
It felt like commitment.
It felt like work.

So Amazon switched the button to something softer:

“Continue.” ➡️

No pressure, just a gentle nudge.

The result?
A simple change reportedly added hundreds of millions in revenue. 💰
All because users felt safe enough to move forward.

UX isn’t always about big redesigns.
Sometimes it’s one kinder word.
One small decision.
One gentle push. ✨

In life, too, you don’t always need a big leap.
Just take the next step.

Just… continue. 🚀

But behind that message lies fear, anxiety, and uncertainty, emotions no woman should ever have to normalize.

That’s where Heads UP comes in, an app designed with one goal in mind: to protect and empower women in vulnerable environments.

😤 The day a client said “too many features”… my spirit dropped.

I had the DRD + PRD. Did the research. Ideas flooding. Magic on the screen. 🎨✨
Client claps, praises… then 💥 “We need to remove features.”

6 hours later, my design was unrecognizable. Inside I was screaming:
🙄 “God why me?”
😩 “Do you know how long I spent?”
😂 “Is this punishment?”

But here’s what I’ve learned 👉🏽
1️⃣ Always know the WHY in the PRD.
2️⃣ Walk through it with stakeholders.
3️⃣ Share drafts early, even the ugly ones.
4️⃣ Link features to real problems.
5️⃣ Document everything. 🙌🏽

👉 Constraints don’t kill creativity — they sharpen it.

We had an incredible experience partnering with @gdg_jos for Dev Fest 2025. It was more than just a gathering — it was a space where ideas, innovation, and community came alive.
