I have several pieces showing at the @redwoodartassociation’s gallery for their Halloween Art Exhibition.

My series, In the Graveyard features two local performing artists @elle_penner and @djgabepressure exploring their connection to death, grief and the breaking of it all.

Grief washes in and out like the tides, with the passing of several loved and adored members in our community and my community in Salt Lake City, I felt drawn to create a series of photos related to grief.

Creating this series was a true act of manifestation. I knew the Halloween Exhibit was coming and wanted to create for it, but I didn’t plan for it either. I wasn’t in a rush. And it all naturally came together.

This last month, I’ve been to @visitferndale’s Historic Ferndale Cemetery numerous times to research, explore, walk, tour and create art in the beauty of this seaside cemetery.

On multiple visits, I even met members of the Board of Directors from the Ferndale Cemetery Association. These lands are well loved and watched over.

It takes a certain type of person, to say yes to this experience of being In the Graveyard. A different energy came to the surface every time I worked with myself and others on these beautiful lands.

I highly encourage you take time to visit, connect and explore this cemetery. This cemetery operates as non-profit organization, run and operated by a ten-member volunteer board. If you’d like to volunteer, donate or purchase plots or plaques contact askferndalecemetery@gmail.com.

And of course— please come support this art show!

📍RAA Gallery
603 F St, Eureka, CA
Now through 11/13

Join us for Arts Alive on Saturday, November 7th from 5-9pm to experience Halloween themed art by local creators in community.

🎃Im a model in a Halloween Art Exhibit at @redwoodartassociation along with the one & only @elle_penner.

The gallery features three pieces from @diamondroseglows and her recent “In The Graveyard” photography shoot.

Staring at these images had me seriously contemplating my personal experience with death and rebirth. Especially the way Diamond captured my essence. This shoot really allowed me to zoom out and examine my present self from a different perspective.

Thank you @diamondroseglows !

Come see them in person and in the spirit of Autumn.

I’ve been having fun with portrait photography.

There’s a lot of creative work that goes into it. From concepting and making a plan to advertising and scouting locations, negotiating contracts, and ensuring we’re all on the same page.

Then taking the actual pictures, listening to your clients, and capturing their natural, authentic expression, then reviewing the photos and editing my faves and preparing the final gallery.

Photography is a way to connect and see yourself
(And others) through a different light, a different lens.

I had a blast connecting with @elle_penner and @djgabepressure for this set! 🖤

Spots are still available for the Ferndale Cemetery photoshoot.
More concepts and opportunities to come. Stay tuned.

Let me say one thing. @diamondroseglows KNOWS what the f*ck she’s doing with her gd camera.

Did you know she’s offering a deal to go play and be photographed by her in a cemetery on 10/18? DM her IG account to book and protect your slot, babes! Promise you’ll be happy with the results. 🖤

Diamond is incredible. She scouted out locations for my Dead Dance finale act lewk, met up with me to talk vision, hammered out a very thoughtful contract, helped me slip in and out of comfy shoes while shooting, and literally cried happy tears with me when reviewing shots on the back of her camera in the graveyard.

In my personal opinion, this first photo of me is the coolest photo taken of me in my ENTIRE life.

More to come.

In the meantime, grab your ticket to see this getup in person on 10/31 at @bluelakecasino when the Penner sisters join @the.undercovers for the most elaborate Halloween show we could POSSIBLY put together! Tickets are $25 on the casino’s website, link is in my IG bio. 💀🎟️

Our team co-created with two couples IN THE GRAVEYARD. 🪦✨ We put the call out there. Who wants to create in this gorgeous, historic, non-traditional setting?

Meet Jacki and Andrew, they got engaged at a cemetery in London. They’ve had multiple dates at the cemetery and felt right at home. 💀💋

Meet Antoinette and Nathan, a playful couple ready to lean into the theme of Halloween—bags packed with multiple outfits to capture the vibe of the setting and their connection. 👻

I had the pleasure to work alongside two talented digital creatives, film graduate @tealeaveskettle and photographer @patrickneureka. Joining as a team of artists, we shared our skills, perspective and background—taking time with each of our clients.

Our next collaborative shoot is coming soon… 👀

Today I was the impromptu test subject for @diamondroseglows “In The Graveyard” photo shoot series. The series is Fall inspired and a precursor to the grief photography series she’s conjuring up.

These captures made me look at myself closer. They made me think about where I am in my personal grief journey.

This contemplation was not what I signed up for today.
But, I was pleasantly surprised by what I discovered.

After all, Fall is my season, and I have to admit, my inner Scorpio was intrigued.

I realized how much I’ve come to understand about my grief. The losses, the changes, and the lessons.

There’s a deeper understanding of life I’ve come to know by processing the constant of death and rebirth.

It’s a long road. But everyday is opportunity to do better.

The lessons I’ve learned made me stronger.
The losses have made me love harder.

On the other side of my grief walk, I came back as someone different.

There wasn’t much information readily available on how to cope with the loss of losing a child. Especially for grieving fathers. And especially since “men” aren’t supposed to have all these emotions.

These photos reminded me of the books I want to write, that could perhaps be helpful to someone who’s gone through something similar.

These photos have inspired so much in me.

Thank you Diamond by @diamondroseglows

From beginners to seasoned models, I love working with a wide range of people in front of the camera.

I had such a blast co-creating this shoot with @elle_penner. Several of our images will be featured at the @redwoodartassociation gallery beginning Tuesday, October 20.

When was the last time you had a photoshoot? 📸
Drop it in the comments!
