《 understanding seasons — part II 》

there is a time for everything.
including a time to let go of something—or many things—that we love 《we might need to release that thing forever, while other times, we may need to release it for some length of time..》

subject: career “identity”
as tempting as it is to attach our identity to a job, career path, or business, it can't be the answer. most of us are taught to believe that—but over the last year, i started to make changes to live otherwise. it's hard to fathom a life without an attachment to a career “identity”, but the more we attach ourselves to any one path, we unintentionally trap ourselves. and this trap limits us in many ways in the short and long run.
we are so much more than a single or multi-career identity that we think/believe to assign ourselves to. plus, we can become so fixated on staying within that “identity” that if/when life is trying to bring us into a new direction, we can be so blinded if we're still mentally living by a certain “identity”.

be prepared to let go and transition at any time.

it's hard to think about, especially after we spend many years studying, then many more years working in that, or another, pathway..

but when we let go and embrace the adventure, there is so much more on the other side 《we will have many seasons, and each one plays a part to teach us something—or many things—plus, shape our character》.

we are constantly operating in seasons.
not everything lasts as we envision.
at times, a transition might feel like an immense loss,
identity crisis, etc.
but from one season to the next, each transition will take us to greater experiences and ongoing fulfillment that we couldn't have thought up by our own plans.

although it may feel like constantly walking into the unknown,
trust the process,
trust the change.
our personal success is greatly tied to
the seasons we need to experience—
because a transition/new season means
you're growing,
you're being shaped
in every aspect of your life
from the present version of yourself
into the next
—

note: i plan on using "body of art" instead of "model" or "muse", when representing others. while a part of me still wants to carry on the latter titles, using either one still negatively impacts people's pysche and it got me thinking... since most are aware of the "model body type" (exists for various industry, fashion history reasons) and since hearing, seeing many use the term "muse" without understanding its history and meaning, i'm convicted to use "body of art". the term is fluid, can have many representations and forms, isn't limited in thought or expression—such in line with works of art. (aside from travel, etc., photos) this new season of concepts i'll integrate here involving the body comes from the stance that our bodies are more than just "hangers" to display a garment—each body is a unique work of art. and the fashion we express ourselves with services our bodies, rather than influence the body to conform to a particular shape/image

note note: over time, thinking to share about my fashion background in Londontown... and (possibly) shifting my career back in that direction (fashion capital tho, undecided).
