Ever been invited to a wedding and you have to RSVP. Before you know it the wedding date is here and you forgot. You figure I’ll just go and surely, they’ll let me in. After all, I was invited. So, you clean yourself up and put on your best clothes. You look in the mirror and think, I look so good, there’s no way I’m not getting in. The wedding is at a beautiful gated private estate. You can’t wait to see what’s on the inside. This is going to be a special night and it costs you nothing. Then, there’s a problem. At the gate, they ask your name and tell you that you’re not on the list. You tell them, but I was invited. No matter how much you argue, they send you away, telling you that it was your responsibility to accept the invitation.

God wants you there. He sent you the invitation. All you have to do is accept it. Not after you clean yourself up. Not when you “look” presentable, the way you think you’re expected to look. No, you have to accept before it’s too late. Otherwise, you’re not getting in. Don’t wait until it’s too late to respond.

Sometimes I just want to crumple into myself and feel all the things. When the losses and the pain of life run up on me like a MAC Truck. I feel gut punched and wonder... "Is this all there is?" My life is way more than half over and I try to remember my dreams and they seem to be left somewhere in the background of yesterday. Somewhere too far away for me to find them again. Today, I felt pretty small for a few minutes. And then I realized that my Tuesdays, Wednesdays AND Thursdays, that seem like a blur each week, are just a speck in the realm of things. And I'm definitely not defined by THEM. and don't have to be stuck being overwhelmed by something that is just a short cut to something more.. Right now, I can only do my best. I am not young anymore and I just have to accept it. My body and brain have slowed down, but I refuse to give up. My dreams are still reachable. I am working on me all of the time and this is just a side-step. Though, sometimes I really do...just want my mom. And I guess that feeling never goes away. But thanks for letting me vent. I'll be okay. I just had a stubbing my toe moment. by @dianeonawhim

My Best Friend

There are all kinds of friendships that inspire the poems in my cards. I am definitely blessed to have many! Childhood friends that have kept in touch, and share a history that no one else has but us. There are friends we had in school. Some we have lost track of and some we have reconnected with and it's hard to describe the magic in that!...

I was a single mom with two little kids, going through a divorce & so devastated with what my life had become. I remember praying for a miracle.
I have no doubt that miracle was YOU.
It hasn't always been smooth sailing through the years, But the one thing that had always stayed consistent
has been your faith & love & patience. My kids became your kids & you never looked back. And now their kids are your grand kids & your love & theirs back is a bond that many Fathers don't know.
No, i didnt "Luck out" it wasnt an accident, it was a pre-ordained miracle that brought you to us!
