My kids gave me the award for best cook in the world 🏆Every other cook can take a back seat🤭 The award has been given and the challenge is over 😂 (proof is at the end of the video)

The kitchen is where I feel most at home. From the simmering sound of jollof rice, to puff puff, noodles, croissants and so on. It is one of the places I show love to the people I love, and my little judges say my food is the best, so I will not argue.

I started content confused about what to post. I did not expect it to teach me this much. Here are 5 life lessons I learned along the way:

1. Nobody is watching as closely as you think. The video you almost deleted because you felt awkward is the one someone needed to see.
2. Clarity does not come while waiting. It comes while you are doing.
3. Being shy of the camera is mostly in your head. All it takes is turning it on and pressing record.
4. Growth is quiet at the start. Posting to a small audience is still training, and you are getting better with every video.
5. You can start without knowing your niche. As you show up and stay consistent, it becomes clearer.

❗️I know I said 5, but let me give you 1 more:

6. Some posts are meant for just a few people, not the crowd. If your post reached the people it was meant for, it did its job.

You are not lacking content. You are just not looking in the direction where your ideas are hiding. Here are 12 places to look:
1. The advice you gave a friend in a voice note
2. The complaint you keep repeating (every rant is a post)
3. Something you explained to someone twice this week
4. A part of your culture or community that people around you don't understand
5. The comment you almost typed and then deleted
6. The funny or deep thing your child said today
7. Your commute. I filmed this on an escalator with my daughter
8. What you are learning right now
9. Your wins, even the small ones
10.The thing you keep Googling
11. Trends or news, with your own opinion on them
12. Your old posts, said in a new way

Tip: the moment an idea comes, put it in your notes or send yourself a voice note. Ideas disappear fast.

Save this for the next time you feel stuck, and send it to a creator friend who needs it.

Does it really matter what school your child attends if they are not being taught:
■To build a relationship with God. Teach them from a young age how to speak to Him, about anything, anytime. A child who knows how to pray is never truly alone.
■How to treat people. To be kind, to be respectful, and to know when to say no and stand on it. Kindness without boundaries makes a child easy to use.
■How to handle their emotions. It is okay to cry, to be angry, to be scared. Teach them to say what they feel instead of hiding it.
■How to speak up. When they see something wrong, or when something is done to them, they should know they can tell you and you will listen.
■That their worth does not come from grades, likes, or what people say about them.
■How to fail and try again. Mistakes are lessons, not shame.

If we don't teach our children these things at home, society will teach them for us. And the world out here is cruel.

School can give them knowledge. Home has to build their character.
