Autumn is in full swing, which means it’s time to get ready for winter and surround ourselves with colorful little things to brighten up the gloomy days. 🍂

My @merry_friday blankets have been keeping me cozy for almost a year now, and the Typo II collection was the very first one I got. I’ve always loved its cute lettering, and now I finally have all the colorways!

With a move coming up, I can’t wait to find new spots for all of them in my next home and make it feel extra cozy. 🧡

Honestly, I have no idea which one will win in the end, or if any of them will win at all.

Every new location on Jeju makes me think it can’t get any better. And every time this island proves me wrong. This was a tough but incredible route to the very heart of the island 🍂

How to make a foil art photo frame 🤍

You’ll need: your photo, thick foil, a frame with raised edges, tools for embossing and a soft cloth.

Start by measuring your photo and cutting a template. Sketch your frame design on paper, then transfer it onto tracing paper. Flatten your foil, I used a transit card for this, then flip the tracing paper and transfer the design onto the foil.

Once the main lines are done, refine the details without the tracing paper. Use a rounded tool to press the raised elements, I used the back of a pencil, then switch to a sharper tool for finer details. Flip the foil and push in any elements that should sit flat on the clean side.

Cut out your frame and decorate your photo 🤍

How to decorate a paper lantern 🌸

What you need:
• Paper lantern, any shape
• Hanji or mulberry paper for the pattern
• Decoupage glue or PVA mixed with water 1:1 (make sure your glue is matte)
• brush: (Medium and small brush for applying glue. Large soft brush for smoothing the paper onto the lantern)

💌 Choose your paper
I used traditional Korean paper, but you can also use mulberry paper or any other thin translucent paper. Regular coloured paper won’t work as it doesn’t let light through

🪴 Find your pattern
I recommend looking for inspiration across different sources rather than copying directly from Pinterest — that way your work stays unique. Sketch a few ideas and try them against the lamp before committing

🧩 Cut or tear your elements
Cut for clean sharp edges. If you use thinner paper and tear it slightly damp, you’ll get a beautiful watercolour effect where the edges blend softly into the lantern

🍵 Apply
If your paper is thicker like mine, apply the glue directly onto the element rather than the lantern. Then place it and smooth from centre to edges with a brush. Seal with another thin layer on top

🧚🏻 Dry
Leave for a few hours before hanging and turning on the light.

The home café era has finally begun ☕

I spent a long time choosing my first coffee machine. I wanted something good but not in the high-end price range, just to make sure I’d actually use it at home regularly. I went with Breville for its milk frother in this price range and the minimalist design. Already looking forward to decorating it with magnets since the body is metal 🤍

Still waiting for my grinder and scales, can’t do without those.

And of course, the whole setup is still to come ✨ by @diaryofannn
