san diego photo dump!

took a little trip with my brother to san diego + la jolla last weekend! it was such a fun and healing trip, and i really enjoyed getting out of heat for a bit

some bits and bobs from august!

idk about you but i’ve been itching for september to get here so i can fully immerse myself into fall (even though where i live it’s still hitting 100+ degrees in the weather)

august was a busy month for me but most importantly, it was the month my summer long reading slump FINALLY ended! thank god because that was terrible </3

i adore all these authors and every time any of them releases a new book, i just know that life is so good 🙂‍↕️

also not most of these being fantasy books LMAO, there just hasn’t been any fantasies hitting lately so i have to go back to my roots!

the stolen heir by holly black

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

— i really enjoyed this one i’m not gonna lie! it was so fun being back in this universe :’) i was honestly a bit worried i wasn’t going to enjoy or connect with the story or the characters as much because i LOVE jude and cardan, but i was glad to be wrong!

i love love love wren, i think she’s such an interesting and complex character. i honestly felt for her the entire time, she went through a lot and i support her every endeavor. my girl can do no wrong in my eyes!!

oak had me stressed out. i know this is his book and we’re supposed to see him as a charming prince but i just felt so maternal over him honestly. as an older sister with a younger brother the same age as oak, that’s all i could see him as. i did really enjoy, however, learning about his thoughts and experiences about what went down during the events in the original trilogy.

the beginning half of the book was quite slow so it did take me a bit to get into it, but the last half was so compelling and at that point i could not put the book down! leave it to miss holly black to have me stressed during the last parts of her books :’)

honorable mention: oak’s line about jude and cardan toward the end>>>> iykyk by @diaslibrary
