Today we said goodbye to my Aunt Patty.

I’m so thankful God placed her in my life. She led by example that family is a priority. She made sure we saw each other, no matter how busy life became, and because of her, some of my favorite childhood memories were made. She was the glue that kept us connected.

I’ll think of her every Christmas as I place the hand-painted carolers she made on my mantle. I’ll think of her when I see the blankets she lovingly made for me as a child that I now get to share with my daughters. And I’ll think of her when I finally learn to make her pinwheels—because everyone in the Dalsky family knows those aren’t just cookies… they’re family currency. I guess it’s time I learned to protect the family bank.

Thank you, Aunt Patty, for your kindness, your steady love, and for showing me what it looks like to make family a priority. I hope to honor your memory by doing the same.

While our hearts are heavy, I’m grateful your suffering has ended. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of her life and for the legacy she leaves behind. May she rest in eternal, perfect peace in Your loving arms. by @diavavruska
