“Wow… there’s no wall. Where the hell are we supposed to hang this TV?” 😂📺

Turns out… somebody already solved that problem.
For this high-rise installation, we used a pillar-mounting system from our friends at Condo Mount, designed specifically for situations like this.
We’ve known the Condo Mount crew for a while, and they’ve even sent us products in the past to put to the test — so when we walked in and saw this giant column sitting exactly where the TV needed to go…
We knew what time it was. 😎🛠️

Right product + right installation = NO WALL, NO PROBLEM.

And that LA skyline definitely doesn’t hurt. 🌆

THE 163 BUILD — EPISODE 4: FIRST LIGHT ⚡️

The wall was built… but it still wasn’t a TV.

Now came the tedious part: installing each individual LED module and turning hundreds of separate pieces into ONE seamless 163-inch display.

Every module. Every connection. Every adjustment matters.

And after weeks of planning, wiring, building and troubleshooting…

💡 WE FINALLY GOT FIRST LIGHT.

But getting it to turn on is one thing.

🚨 AV PROS — I NEED ANOTHER SET OF EYES ON THIS ONE.

Working through the audio side of our 163” LED wall build and I’ve hit an HDMI handshake issue.

Current signal chain:

📺 Apple TV
⬇️
🔀 HDMI splitter / audio extractor
⬇️
🔊 UniFi PowerAmp

Video is passing through just fine, but for whatever reason I’m not getting the audio handshake/extraction into the PowerAmp.

I’ve been going through the usual suspects — EDID, PCM vs. Dolby, HDMI handshake, extractor settings, etc. — but I figured this was a perfect time to tap into the AV community.

AV installers / integrators: what am I missing?

Anybody running Apple TV through an HDMI audio extractor into a UniFi PowerAmp successfully?
