Monarch migration is in full swing! Our giant Mexican Sunflower plant attracts them all day long and I love seeing their antics. Tested a different method for removing small batts from my drum carder today. This was only about 12 grams - a blend of 80% MerinoX wool and 20% wine red tussah silk. by @dicey_morels

Happy release day to the Zig Zag Along Pullover by @aimeeshermakes !

I received partial yarn support for this project which allowed me to use @dererumnatura Gilliatt for the first time! What a delightful yarn! The combo of the yarn and the pattern were a delight to knit and I can’t wait to wear this all the time in the winter. I tend to get overheated, so I was a little worried about a worsted weight sweater, but the woolen spun nature of Gilliatt makes it so comfortable and temperature regulating.

For the contrast color I used handspun from two braids, one was Spring at Sleepy Creek by @companionfiber and the other was an OOAK by @clockworkfiber_co . I loved this yarn so much that I had to add a little extra motif to the sleeves.

My swatch in the round/hat is also knit from Gilliatt and handspun! This skein I got on my trip to France and the handspun is from an OOAK @yarnjam braid! I plan to add a pompom 😍 by @dicey_morels

Happy release day to the #LoungeRoomRaglan by @aimeeshermakes ! This pattern was a joy to knit and it fits incredibly thanks to Aimee’s skilled pattern writing and customization options. Highly recommend knitting this one!
I also received yarn support for this test knit and was able to try Aimee’s first in-house yarn - Comfort Silk Linen. It’s a dream to work with and so comfortable! I love the memory and bounce that it has and I can’t wait to use the other skeins that I bought to make a tank top.

Happy release day to the Cold Front Vest by @theknittingfriend ! I was so excited to test knit this pattern because I’d been looking for a pattern just like this to knit up with my @explorerknits boucle. The finished vest is the coziest thing ever and I’ve been wearing it a ton this past month.

I used two colors of EKF Leave no Trace boucle (the brown and the purple) along with Freezie Pop and Blue Spirulina. I held Botanicals on EKF Suri throughout. I highly recommend this pattern, it’s a winner for sure!

Learning how to use my new drum carder! It’s not exactly a fast process, but it’s so cool to see how it transforms the hand processed fiber! This is CVM wool with three colors of dyed alpaca locks (15%) and sari and tussah silk (5%). So fluffy and can’t wait to spin it! Pics 3-5 are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd passes. by @dicey_morels

My first Tour de Fleece is in the books! I spun 846g from my stash as part of the #stashdashers team organized by @mellyknits and @battyfibers ! What an amazing time I had learning new techniques like long draw, spinning from the fold, and making rolags. And I loved building community with so many other knitters online, it’s been so rewarding.

My first woolen spun skein is in the books. I used Mérinos d’Arles fiber I bought in France from @lainesduvalgaudemar to make rolags and spun them supported long draw. It definitely was a learning process and looks much better plied and fulled than it did as singles! 😅 love the color and softness though and I can’t wait to spin the batt I got too! by @dicey_morels

Here’s my first 3 ply spin! I combined two braids, one Cormo braid (This Ball Will Never End) from @littlefiberco and one Shaniko braid (Sandcastles + Seashells) from @yarnjam . One ply is half and half with the center bit combo drafted. The other two are divided by color to make a slow gradient change, but the end of each is combo drafted to fade them out a bit. I think the overall color fade is going to look really nice knit up! by @dicey_morels

Happy release day to the Saltbush Tank by @brianaarlene ! This was my first time doing a test knit and it was a lot of fun! I had a great time experimenting with different stripe patterns using totals from @explorerknits on Denali Sock and a base of Swanky Sock from @magpiefibers in Cinder. Love the final result!
