POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Just some of my previous art of this story of mine before I start doing the Story lore challenge, so pls read below I wanna re-introduce my current writing project more properly, this is actually a story Iā€™ve worked on for years, ever since 2009-2010 ish but I put it on the shelf for some years before getting back to it around 2017? Itā€™s my highest prioritised project at the moment, at least I try to focus on finishing this one instead of writing on my dozen other WIPsā€¦ On my socials I refer to it as "The Heartstone" but thatā€™s only a part of the translated title for the second book. I also have the hashtag #alvelandsbyen and a guide and story highlight, plus a collection on Artfol if you wanna check any of these out (all named The Heartstone) but basically itā€™s the 1st draft of the second book that Iā€™m currently writing on and trying to finish (completed the 1st bookā€™s 1st draft in 2019) As for what the story is about, the short version is that some kids falls through a portal and ends up in a parallel world where they meet some elves and other creatures Also if you didnā€™t already know, Iā€™m writing this story in Norwegian so Iā€™ll try my best to translate whatever species, names and magic stuff for this challenge . . #storylorechallenge #writingchallenge #marchchallenge #writingproject #writingwip #writing #originalcharacters #originalcharactersart #myocs #ocart #traditionalartworks #traditionartist #artistsupport by @diddis_drawings

Some kids playing in the snowā„ļøā›„ļø Drew this for the official Artfolmas challenge This is a redraw of an older drawing that Iā€™ve been wanting to redraw for years now, pretty happy with how much better the anatomy and perspective turned out (thatā€™s what I didnā€™t like abt the old one) but the trees were better in the older ngl (i got pretty lazy with the background and didnā€™t use any refs so) . . #tegning #tradisjonellkunst #mixedmediaartwork #traditionalartwork #artfolmas2023 #artfolchallenge #decemberartchallenge #oldartredraw #vinterlek #utelek snowyday by @diddis_drawings

Portrait of my late rabbit JoJo <3 started this in mid August but as mentioned in my previous post Iā€™m finally starting to finish everything I started this summer the pic I redrew is from 2011 or 2012, also screenshot an old insta post bc itā€™s too much work to find my old phone/memory card to get the original picture so thatā€™s why it has filters but I tried drawing more what the natural colours would be.. Anyway,, man itā€™s hard to draw hay so kinda gave up at the details in the end and as always fur is also hard to draw. I think this only looks good at a distance bc the paper is a bit toned so the white gel pen sticks out too much.. but in general I like how it turned out! Iā€™m really drawing a lot of animals these recent years lol . . #tegning #tradisjonellkunst #kjƦledyrportrett #fargeblyanttegning #traditionalartwork #colourpencilart #fabercastellpolychromos #animalportrait #petportrait #realism #rabbit #bunny #kanin by @diddis_drawings

OC-tober 17: OCs interacting Didnā€™t draw today so hereā€™s older art I havenā€™t posted outside of Artfol instead (mostly just to get it posted here already). So this shows Matthew helping Jeremy home, this is from an old story I havent worked on for yeears, weā€™re talking over a decade. So in short Jer got caught up in a gangā€™s shenanigans (wrote more about the scene, story, and characters on artfol) Matthew is the boss actually but showed up later then found them beating up Jeremy for no good reason, and stepped in and helped him home. Reason why Jeremy was even there was bc his friend James made him come with and he wants to be cool i guess and want an in with the gang. Thereā€™s a whole thing with him not daring to step in and letting them get at Jeremy until Matt shows up. This is stuff I wrote in like 2012 Drew this in July, just randomly wanted to draw some characters from this old story I probably worked most on around 2011-2013. I actually have very little of it still as I lost what i wrote in my phone back then (unless i find a way to export notes from it when the phone itself is broken and hard to access). It never had a proper title, just referred to it as "Krim" wich is the genre basically; a murder mystery. When I drew this it was just how I remembered the scene, then when I actually found back to it in an old Word document there was some different details and also a bit different vibe and kinda underwhelming and short? I did write the paragraph out on this page but my old writing is so badšŸ˜ a few things i like about this old story would be the character dynamics but most of it is cringe and badly written. I do like some deep lore i apparently hinted at that would be revealed later in the story. I have some paragraphs in notebooks and that one document, but most of what I wrote for it was in my old phone and as good as only exists in my memory now. The cast is rather big. These two are side characters actually but Jeremy is the brother of the main character (Stephenie) Prompt list by @/casecoded . . #casetober26 #diddis_drawings_ocs #myoriginalcharacters #oldstoryart #sakurakoibrushpens by @diddis_drawings

OC-tober 16: Pose study. His face looks a bit weird in the first one like he looks kinda mad.. Just drew Okaro bc I find it easy recently, drawing him so much. Happy with how the small doodles turned out without any references. The referenced ones tho was a lot harder especially the running one; redrew it multiple times bc the body was too big or the head too small etc. it still looks weirdā€¦ but pose studies are fun Iā€™ve been meaning to practice full-body shots bc drawing just from the torso up for years has made me so bad at drawing proportionate bodies now :| Prompt list by @/casecoded . . #casetober26 #doodles #posestudy #myoc #diddis_drawings_ocs #traditionalart #pencilsketches by @diddis_drawings

OC-tober 15: Ref sheet Finally finished this for Paloma, I had the sketch lying around from July last year; along with so many other ref sheets in the work, mostly for the same storyā€™s characters. I did start Fergusā€™ last month tho but the others are from last year and I just havenā€™t gotten around to finish them. Kinda rushed the lineart and colouring here, I would have wanted to make it look a bit better and maybe colour digitally (wich I started some time ago but since deleted it..) but I just wanted to get this finished for the prompt today so didnā€™t really add more to it and just coloured what I had already sketched out last year. Also sorry no translation as I wanted to post this today, just know sheā€™s the Elf Kingā€™s sister and sheā€™s under a spell. OC-tober 12: powers Fergus has several; he can change his size at will (Okaro for scale), he can turn invisible ā€” both at will and by being scared (again with Okaro as "scale"). These are the powers that all the magic foxes has, but Fergus is among the few that also does magic on top of that, but only with the help of a wand. His hat also has magic properties, he can both store things in it and magic so he can like pull it from the hat again to strength his own magic like he does with the wand. In the 5th slide Kitsune is the one doing magic (the only fox that can do it without a wand), and in the 8th itā€™s technically Rani contacting Okaro but I donā€™t have much art of Okaro doing magic; since heā€™s in here too Iā€™m also mentioning that he has magic powers as well. These are kinda awkwardly spaced but I think I like each sketch individually except the paw with a wand. And it was so hard to show Fergus being kinda invisibleā€¦ not sure i like that one either. As always, have some old art as well. Prompt list by @/casecoded . . #casetober26 #diddis_drawings_ocs #alvelandsbyen #lore #myocs #fox #traditionalartist #doodles by @diddis_drawings

Drawtober 11: stone Had to do this prompt since several of my stories have magic stones in them xD donā€™t ask me why tho ĀÆ\_(惄)_/ĀÆ I started like three different sketches of Johanna but was unable to draw.. think Iā€™ll finish the one where sheā€™s on the bed (third slide) but for the prompt I wanted a more close-up shot of the stone itself. So hereā€™s a sketch of Vinni from last year, that I still havenā€™t finished. The other slides shows you some of those stones from both stories. OC-tober 8: hobby Jo does horseback riding First that came to mind was Ant with skateboarding, but since Iā€™ve drawn that multiple times I wanted to do something else. So I might have already mentioned it somewhere or maybe it hasnt really left my head except her phone background, but Iā€™ve long had the idea that Jo does horse riding; wether itā€™s competitively or not I donā€™t know, I should put some rosettes in her room if so. I just put in old art so you see who itā€™s supposed to beā€¦. Anyway, idk what happened with parts of it, it came out so bad.. especially her face was hard to do; you know how hard it is to get the duck lips across without it looking weird?? Sheā€™s supposed to iiss the horseā€™s mule anyway.. Well I just donā€™t have time or patience to do a proper coloured pencil piece either so the colouring is so so, and itā€™s not my most confident medium but I just wanted to change it up and not use brushmarkers for all of these prompts. (also Johanna is half Swedish so this song is fitting no?šŸ˜† sheā€™s not on the horse tho it would fit more) Prompt list by @/casecoded . . #diddis_drawings_ocs #casetober26 #myoriginalcharacter #horseart #horsedrawing #traditionalartists #fabercastellpolychromos by @diddis_drawings

OC-tober 7: yin & yang Luka and Eldur from my story ā€œThe prince and the fireā€ so they are really different but idk wether they are my most different ocs, but they have a kind of conflicted relationship as childhood friends that end up on each side of a civil war, and might not see eye to eye on a lot of things Iā€™ve been meaning to redraw the old art but this didnt turn out how i wanted.. the poses and anatomy was so hard for no reason :P Eld also looks a lot younger here but he is supposed to look small for his age, but they donā€™t look the same age? OC-tober 6: Cloud 9 Okaro and the magic foxes šŸ¦ŠāœØšŸŽ© It was so hard to think of something good in my OCsā€™ lives compared to yesterdayā€™s prompt with the worst thingsšŸ˜… I like dramatic stories and whump i guess. But in the end I ended up with Okaro, although this could be more of a calm after (opposed to before) the storm. He was on my list of who to draw yesterday; but he has good things coming for him as well, in the end. I do have a fair amount of art of him suffering already thošŸ˜… Based this on some doodles I did last year. Heā€™s being congratulated/welcomed by the magic foxes after not seeing them for a while. From Palomaā€™s pov he looks like he fits right in, and she is right about him feeling comfortable there at least, and the foxes does think of him as family (ref slide 4 where you see Paloma and the others in the background) Prompt lists by @/casecoded . . #casetober26 #diddis_drawings_ocs #alvelandsbyen #myoriginalcharacters #foxes #mixedmediaart #sakurakoibrushpens #tombowbrushpens #traditionartist by @diddis_drawings
