Synthsplorations #3 (Clones)

Wanted to sketch this one because of the retro sounding effect on the matriarch. Late night drives, Daft Punk, Space, etc.

S/N: I’m moving on to another job after 6 months of unemployment. To be honest, probably the most reflective six months I’ve experienced. A cool concept that was derived from that experience was:

Change can happen unexpectedly and will completely alter your life, but when the dust settles there’s this weird period of nothingness that brews. I found myself often wanting to find the lesson in each day or every anxiety to try and improve, but what that led to was just burn out and false expectations. All this to come up with a really elegant explanation or solution to my problems. That solution never really came… I did eventually learn that not everything is a simple answer (of course that’s obvious from an outer lense) and what really determines your future is your ability to build systems that work for you and the state of being that you wish to accomplish.

I woke up this morning and had this hazy feeling. Sorta like brain fog but physically.
(Probably because it was cloudy outside 🌧️).
So I decided to try and replicate that fuzz with this synth. Hope yall enjoy 😶‍🌫️ by @dieg.f

Me and a couple guys made this back in college while I was struggling to find my place in music amongst so many talented individuals. We wrote this based off a chord progression that I had been stuck on for a couple of years and eventually decided to use it for this track. It took us about 1 hour to write this once we laid the keys down, Sid (the guy singing) came up with this vocal melody and the other producer found this sick drum sample! The song was actually never finished so the last section was sticthed together by me a year or two after the original recording.

Anyway, I’ve been back in that musical funk and have been digging through old files in hopes of finding that spark again. Hope yall enjoyed the rant 😬

Sid is on vocals and another guy (who I don’t remember their name) helped with production. I’m on keys/synths/vocal chopping.

Note: the chord progression here was actually used on Stardust by @moonsyde_ since I never planned on releasing this demo (play this out) by @dieg.f

Stardust ✨✨ is finally out on all streaming platforms!

This song has been in the making since 2018 from jamming out to beats in my bedroom to performing at college house parties with amazing musicians who I get to call my friends. I’m extremely grateful to all the members of @moonsyde_ who contributed to this song and made it what it is today.
