“Death Mask Flower Installation”
48” x 48”
2026

💀💐

I’ve used faces a lot in the past as a reoccurring visual motif in my work. This piece is my way of bringing a handful of past studio instincts and interests together: 2-D with 3-D, image with object, assemblage with drawing.
I’ve used masks a number of ways in my life; everything from utilitarian performance wardrobe, to party prop, to IRL spiritual protection.
These 8 specific masks represent a mortal transformation cycle / hero’s journey: birth, self-realization, mutation, and death.
Placed around a fictional technicolor ranunculus plant, illustrating whimsy and bliss.

Thanks to @rivers_rule_radio for the ceramic mask and @mattjbauer for the 3D printed mask.

Self Portrait as Freddy Krueger on Blue Flowers
40” x 50”
Acrylic on Decorative Cotton
2026

Actor Robert Englund has a deep-seated love for classic rock and roll, surf rock, and 1960s counterculture music. Having grown up in Southern California and spent time near San Francisco during the peak of the 1960s music scene, his taste heavily reflects the electric guitar revolution of that era.
