AJ has suffered devastating injuries: both of his legs are broken in multiple places, one thigh completely shattered, requiring extensive surgeries with titanium rods and disks. He is also suffering from a lacerated liver, internal bleeding near his aorta artery, brain swelling, trauma to his left eye, and is currently on dialysis.

But through it all, AJ is showing signs of strength and resilience. His brain is responsive to testing, his vitals are stable, and his heart is strong. While there is hope, we still do not know the full extent of the long-term impacts he may face.

AJ isn't just fighting for himself. He’s everyone's big brother, a provider, a friend, and a pillar to many. As a barber, he works with his hands every day to support his family, not just financially, but throughout all other aspects of life. Right now, we don't know when or if AJ will be able to return to work. With anticipated bills, car payments, and everyday expenses, his family needs the help more than ever.

We are humbly asking for any contribution you can make to help AJ and his family during this unimaginable time. Every dollar raised will go directly towards AJ’s care, rehabilitation, and supporting his family as they navigate the long journey ahead.

Please consider donating and sharing this campaign widely. Your support, love and prayers mean more than we can ever express.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Day 1 Haides EDU - what did Haides edu teach you 6 years ago?

At some point in my career, i didn’t know what other opportunities could arise through cutting hair.

I took our EDU foundations course back in 2020 and fell in love with the game and thought that “sky is the limit here” but also thought barbershop ownership was the sky…

I quickly realized that life changes but what this industry has to offer will not. It’s filled with endless opportunities - if you’re pointed in the right direction.

EDU taught me that we don’t just offer knowledge and techniques. But starting points and the tools to help get you where you need to be.

In 2020 I didn’t think I’d be able to teach what I fell in love with while still doing what I love 💈 by @diego528_

Section natural growth pattern >>

Instead of forcing the hair, listen to what it’s telling you to do THEN choose your desired length.

On my clients head, the sparsity of hair stacked with prominent bone structure makes it tricky to cut enough to tighten it up, but leaving enough length to keep everything dark and even.

Style with stmnt wax powder for easy and daily application….. don’t forget to teach your clients how to do it themselves at home!

Double post cuz @bassivisuals did such a beautiful job capturing some of my favourite features of this haircut.

Something soft. Something natural.

Impromptu content morning with my guy.

Caught up, talked about perseverance through adversity and the mindsets behind it, my favourite moments with my son, and laughed.

Advised him on the practicality of styling his hair. Because his hair forces itself forward, I told him to elevate his natural growth pattern by using @findbalens clay and @stmntgrooming wax powder to expose the texture I created and pinching the hair together to give that pointy/spikey look he wanted by @diego528_

When @hxppi and @victorignvcio came through from Toronto, the Haides team didn't just host the class, we took part and experienced it.

Some people think once you're an educator, you've figured it all out. the truth is the opposite.

The more you take class and invest in your growth, the more you realize how much there still is to learn.

That’s the standard we hold ourselves to, and it's the same standard we bring into every class we teach.

You can't pour into others if you stop filling your own cup.

Each one, teach one and every one keeps learning.

Thank you to Happi and Victor for the knowledge, passion and inspiration.

Until next time brothers🤝 by @diego528_

This is what the room looks like.

No one here is pretending to have it all figured out. We’re here to understand hair, not just copy techniques.

To learn how to connect with and service real people, not just cut their hair good. To grow the right way, with people who’ve been exactly where you are right now.

A lot of barbers and stylists spend their early years struggling alone when it doesn’t have to be that way.

If you’ve been thinking about taking that first step, or even that next step HaidesEDU is where it starts.
