“Voice Of Silence”, my BA in Fashion Design graduate collection, is a tribute to my mom and our relationship back then when we decided to emigrate from Colombia to Spain in search of the promise of a new life. At that time, my world was limited to the height of my mom’s waist, and meanwhile, she became a tiny, silent spider, weaving a new reality for us to call home in an environment that threatened to erase us.

Today, eighteen years later, I look back with tenderness, wondering which of us was smaller in the eyes of the world: me, who feared getting lost in the crowd, or her, who feared losing both of us along the way.

To my heroine, my spider, my protector, my guardian… to my mom. by @diegoserratoo
