4th @ World cup #1 in Millau
What an event: awesome setting, great atmosphere and well organised, a true showcase of our sport!

I paddle out of passion but when it comes to international comps, my competitive side takes over and my focus is on the result. Everyone close to me knew I was looking for a medal this time. After my last ride in finals, I had to watch myself drop from 2nd place to less than a spin away from a podium spot.

Looking back helps putting things in perspective:
- This winter, I went deep, I had to rehab my first kayaking-related injury. It kept me out of a boat and away from the sports that bring me joy for a couple of months. I wasn’t sure I’d ever handle the same training load again. Fast forward to this spring: I made it to Stakeout and competed in a World Cup completely pain-free. I can’t thank @kine_rijsenberg enough for getting me back.

- A few years ago my career competition goal was to ever be part of a world cup, euros or worlds final. I placed top 5 in the last 3 major competitions I took part in.

Some special mentions:
- @robin.deschepper.coaching who got me physically in the best competition shape I have ever been in
- @dennis_sweetwater_coaching for giving me the tools and support when needed to get to this level
- the french kayaking community: I never felt so much support and love before 🫶
- my sponsors @kanocentrum @paddlepeople_official @surfears

I apologise to everyone who saw me butcher that lunarloop so hard during finals 😅

The sun is out, and more and more nations are landing in Millau! Only 12 days before the official start of the World Cup, it's getting real!⚡

@naturalgamesfr was an absolute blast!
Great vibes, perfect feature, amazing people, smooth organisation, .. This one is firmly locked into my calendar for the next years

Results:
5th in the stacked Euro Cup
🥈 in both side events (jam session + boaterX)

That’s a wrap for my competition season.
It's time to reset the body, calm the mind and most of all joy paddle. New goals will be set .. But first some Belgian fries, boardgames & canoe polo

4TH IN THE WORLD!

In Flanders we’d call it the “chocolate medal”. Before the comp, I would've signed for this result without a doubt. Yet it tastes a little bitter sweet as chocolate should.
Not too bad for a first World Championships I guess 😅

Massive congrats to a more than worthy World Champion @tomdollekayak this guy flies and inspires 👏

Huge thanks to the people who helped me get here:

🫶 @dennis_sweetwater_coaching , we started working together in November and he has opened my eyes to so many aspects I had never even considered. Helped me unlock moves I was stuck with for years. Can't wait to see where he'll take me.

💪 @inspiro_fit they made me a strength & conditioning plan to get me in top shape. It paid off, just check my rides. I still had gas left in the tank by the end!

Thanks to the organisers, community, judges and everyone who cheered me on, sent messages or followed along, it means a lot 🙏
