Got to perform with @the.cavemen a few days ago
It was great to share the stage with my long time friends and brothers @bjaminofficial and @knoteofficial after many years.

Here’s a short solo on one of my favorite @the.cavemen songs titled “fall” off their first record

Thanks to @jibbsdisu and the rest of the team for the call.

My brother and long time collaborator @temidayo_balogun just released a new record “Afrolution”.

@temidayo_balogun is a great composer and multi - instrumentalist. Grateful to be a part of what I believe is a milestone for West African jazz music in the diaspora.

Please kindly check out Afrolution.

Excited to be playing some shows in the Boston area as part of the album release.

Digba Ogunbiyi played a killer show in Buffalo last week and swung by my studio the next morning to sit for some portraits while he was in town.

I love this shot because it’s completely unforced; he just closed his eyes for a second, and that was the frame. (We tried a few more like this right after, but none of them had this same vibe.)

Even cooler was that when he took a look at my record collection at the studio, he gifted me a vinyl copy of his new album STAY STILL. Which I’ve been listening to all morning.

Digba is originally from Nigeria, and the music is a mix of Yoruba rhythms and modern jazz. Go track down his music, or watch his live sets on Chris’s Jazz Cafe YouTube channel to see what I mean. It sounds amazing.

For those of you who actually love jazz and don’t just use it as background noise for cooking pasta: what’s your favorite record right now? Drop it below (the rest of you can keep listening to lo-fi beats while studying in silence 😉) by @digba_ogunbiyi
