STOP saying ‘Self-Employed’ when applying for a loan, it could get you denied almost instantly.

I’m applying for a new phone contract and this topic felt like it had to be shared again:

Do this instead:

✔️Register a company with the CIPC.

✔️ Pay yourself a consistent salary and pay over the payroll taxes monthly.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️ Do this for at least 3 consecutive months on an exact day each month eg the 25th
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Then when filling out a credit application:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️ Select ‘Permanently Employed’.
✔️ Employed by: ‘Your company name’
✔️ Designation: Director / CEO
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
TRADING AS A SOLE PROP?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️ Withdraw a regular amount from your business bank account monthly
✔️ have formal financial statements signed by an accountant
✔️ Get a letter from your accountant confirming your income amounts
