A few months on two wheels and somehow it already feels like there was a life before motorcycles… and a life after. 😂

I started out thinking the biggest thing I had to learn was how to ride.

Turns out, that was only the beginning.

I’ve learned about bikes, confidence, gear, maintenance, getting lost, taking the long way and how much fun can happen somewhere between “let’s go for a ride” and actually getting home.

Still very much a beginner. Still figuring things out. And honestly, that might be my favourite part of it.

I wanted to leave this video here as part of my journey. 🩵

Maybe it’s not the most exciting story for everyone, but the Rebel was such a big part of how all of this started for me. It was my first bike, the bike I learned on, gained confidence on, and slowly figured out what kind of rider I wanted to be.

And I think changing bikes is part of that too. Your riding changes, your plans change, and sometimes what you want from a motorcycle changes with you.

For me, that meant saying goodbye to a bike I genuinely loved and choosing something that fits my life and the way I want to ride now a little better.

So this is not really a “why I sold the Rebel” video… it’s just another little part of the journey I wanted to keep here. 🥹🏍️

And now… let’s see what the NC750X chapter brings. 🩵

I absolutely loved my Rebel, and if I had to choose my first bike all over again, I’d still choose her. 🖤

But somewhere along the way, riding became more than just a hobby for me. I want to ride all year round, commute to work, carry my stuff, go on longer rides and not have to think twice about wind, weather or comfort.

And as much as I loved the Rebel, I started to realize that I needed a bike that fits the way I actually want to ride now.

So this wasn’t really about wanting a “better” bike. It was about choosing the right bike for this chapter of my life.

She was exactly the bike I needed to start this journey, and I’ll always be happy she was my first. 🖤

A truck driver may have saved me today.

I had just picked up my new bike when, right as I entered the highway, my rear tyre suddenly went flat.

I was in the far left lane. 🙃

Luckily there was traffic, and a truck driver noticed what was happening. He immediately blocked the traffic so I could safely make my way to the emergency lane. I’m so grateful he saw it and reacted so quickly. ❤️

And then, by pure coincidence, a rider on a Rebel 1100 — with a Miller exhaust of all things 😂 stopped to check on me and help. Thank you so much @jorick_melgers 🙏🏻

And thank you to @motorotterdam for all the help afterwards 💙

At this point, I’m pretty sure my Rebel cursed me for leaving her. 😂
She clearly wasn’t ready to let me go…

Okay, I need help 😅

I absolutely love my Rebel, but I’m ready for something more touring/adventure focused more comfort for longer trips, better on the highway, and still fun on backroads.

So far I have:
A — BMW F750GS
B — Kawasaki Versys 650
C — Honda Transalp 750
D — Royal Enfield Himalayan 450
E — Yamaha Tracer 700
F — Honda CB500X
G — Keep the Rebel 🥲❤️

Or… Plan H? 👀

So, what would you choose? And what else should be on my list?
