The Callings 💫

It’s not always about photos. It’s about learning, unlearning, experiencing, and absorbing everything around us. These are the calls I can never resist, and sometimes, I become part of the season itself from the remote island of Socotra to the peak of Swiss Alps and Caucasus mountains along the ring roads of Iceland, across the Empty Quarter desert, and always back to my happiest place home.

Honored in Oviedo, Spain 🇪🇸

I’m truly grateful to have received an award in the Adventure Sports category at the Memorial María Luisa Photo & Video Awards for my image “Magic in Motion.” Taken from the @alsalamchampionship Desert Race in Dubai 2025.

The ceremony was held on April 25 at the University of Oviedo Historic Building, bringing together outstanding photographic talent from around the world. A day earlier, the winning works were showcased in a public exhibition in Covadonga Infiesto, Spain presenting a powerful collection of visual stories.

What made this experience special was the chance to connect with inspiring photographers and experience the warm hospitality of the organizers @memorialmarialuisa . Oviedo stands out as one of the most beautiful and welcoming cities I’ve visited in Europe, with its rich culture and incredible food.

Grateful to be part of a platform that celebrates nature, adventure and visual storytelling. Thank you for the recognition and the wonderful experience.

Can you spot the hidden eyes?

Those tiny eyes belong to a sand boa, one of the desert’s best-hidden snakes. Most of its body stays buried under the sand, with only its eyes and nose showing. This lets it watch for danger and wait quietly for small prey like lizards and rodents.

The sand boa is not a fast hunter. It depends on patience, camouflage, and surprise. Its sandy colour blends perfectly with the desert, making it almost impossible to see. Many people can walk right past it without ever knowing it is there.

This amazing camouflage also keeps the sand boa safe from predators. It spends much of its life hidden beneath the sand, where the ground is cooler during the hot desert day. As the sun goes down, it becomes more active and moves across the dunes in search of food.

In the UAE desert, the sand boa is a perfect example of how wildlife has adapted to survive in one of the world’s harshest environments. Sometimes, all you can see are two tiny eyes watching from beneath the sand.

The Western Ghats | Kerala | 2024

Malabar Torrent Toad (Blaira ornata) a rare and endangered species found only in the Western Ghats. Its striking red body with thick yellow patches, especially above the eyes, makes it stand out among the region’s amphibians. We were lucky to find an adult and a couple of sub-adults within 400 meters, each with distinct patterns. Lately I came to know, during the monsoon breeding season, males show a brighter brick-red body with the yellow head patch and tend to stay more exposed, while females usually hide in crevices.

The Last Storytellers - “We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.”

“A introspective journey through nature’s mystery, seeing between the lines of human awakening, and the thin thread of tomorrow.”

This is a one-minute glimpse of a video I filmed on two islands from opposite sides of the world: the remote, deserted Socotra Island and the ice-covered landscapes of Iceland. Over the past few years, I’ve explored both places closely, connecting with nature and witnessing how the land, the people, and the climate are changing.

It is an honor for me to exhibit my work “Salt in Our Veins” at the Montier Photo Festival and to receive this year’s Jurors’ Award.

The festival took place from November 20 to 23, 2025, in Montier-en-Der, Haute-Marne, Grand Est Region, France.

“Salt in Our Veins” is a very personal work. It shows the fragile balance between human and nature. Through this series, I try to highlight how human life, the environment, and the local economy are all connected. The photos share simple but strong stories about how we depend on nature. They show different sides of this connection, including conservation, economy, trade, and more.

Thank you so much @festivalmontier for the invitation, the warm welcome, and this beautiful platform to share my art. And thank you to @leicacamerafrance and @bushnelltrailcams for the gifts and prizes.
