Three islands. One backpack. Zero control over the weather. We spent our days in the Azores chasing conditions that kept changing their mind. Fog swallowing entire mountains, then slowly giving them back. Light shifting by the hour across São Miguel, Flores and Corvo. Every location taught us the same thing twice: you can’t plan the moment, you can only be ready for it. That’s the idea behind this one. A concept we pitched ourselves, shot wherever the islands let us. It‘s the start of our new outdoor production company @untrekkedmedia. We focus on story-led films, shortform cutdowns and photography for outdoor brands, destinations and experience companies. This video is made with the PGYTECH OnePro Focux the whole way through. The AceFrame harness kept it stable on long, uneven trails. The HyperGuard CORDURA shell handled whatever the sky sent our way. Side and top access meant the camera was out before the moment passed. „So that way, whatever the day brings me, I know I am ready.“ PGYTECH. Make Creation Easier. Porto Santo was one to remember 🏔️ Tbh I never heard of Porto Santo before. I was surprised that it belongs to Madeira eventhough it is it‘s own island But what an island it is: pristine beaches, rock pools, insane viewpoints and cliffs, hidden caves… you name it! All within minutes reach And with @brave_landers 4x4 there are no limits. Driving up or down step hills or going off road: everything is possible. + you have guides that know the island in and out and you can feel their passion by how much they know I am so glad @john_lindholm1 found this magical island #travel #cinematic #portosanto #madeira #filmmkrs taken in Porto Santo, Madeira by @dillen29

Let‘s go to the Azores! We expected to be confronted with rapidly changing weather, tough conditions and constant wind & rain. But I turned out nothing like that. One goal for this trip to film a spec ad for @pgytechglobal‘s OnePro Focux backpack that @john_lindholm1 has been using for years. The spec ad was based around the expectation to encounter these rough weather conditions. However when we arrived we had 25 degrees and clear skies. And that for the rest of the trip. So we were thrown off. We replanned and made the best of what we had (lovely). But the Azores quickly showed us how things go here. Eventhough sun was shown on the forecast throughout the week this didnt mean all the time. On our first shooting day we went to Gorreana Tea plantage for sunrise and what we got was clouds all over. No direct sun nor shadows from the plantage. But we kept shooting anyway & stayed for a couple hours and eventually the sun came out and it illuminated the whole scene. On Flores we then had our first real though conditions with strong winds and the island being covered in fog. It made for Beautiful moody look and gave us exactly what we were looking for. On Terceira we Found this insane rock cliff where we were blessed by the sunrise, eventhough it was cloudy at first. I cant believe how lucky we got on some of these shots, but one thing is for certain @pgytechglobal withstood all conditions and our patience always paid off. When you go to the Azores always expect the unexpected and stay patient, you will certainly be surprised. What a FREAKIN Trip 🤯 Pinch me, right now! I would have never expected the way this trip had gone. Nothing we expected or wished for came true (in a good way). The Azores truly showed us what they are known for: their unpredictability! 📸 @john_lindholm1 Day 1 completely crushed us. 🥲 We were already exhausted coming into this trip. John was editing his Madeira Macro story until the very last day before this trip and racking up on sleep debt on the way. I had it a little better, but was also burried in work and barely finished building a storyboard for our spec ad. We researched each islands spots beforehand, however we were missing a concrete shooting plan, when where what. We are both perfectionists and like to plan ahead, but his threw us off and the weather was not 20 degrees an rain (what we planned for) but rather 25 degrees and sunshine all day. So our first decision to not get stuck in our apartment: cool off at the beach and relax. This sounded like a great idea but quickly turned into a nightmare. The waves were rough at our nearby beach and you were only allowed to swim in a small area, but the water current was still strong. We went anyway. Unfortunately John wore his prescription sun glasses during our first dip and got drawn into the water. Just like that 300€ sunglasses disappeared into the sea. Only sunny days were ahead. The mood was down bad and the pressure was up: we need to make this trip work! 🫡 For Day 2 we wanted to address our internal pressure and started planning our day, when to be where, what to see & shoot. And we left us much more room to really dial in and make the most out of every spot. We started on the gorreana tea plantage for sunrise. Howevee clouds blocked the sunrise we had hoped for. But we stayed.🫸 And we go rewarded. The sun eventually came out and made the tea plantage look magical. This is also when I really enjoyed directing what to film to make our spec ad come to life. Having this clear vision and taking time to create the proper shots slowly grew back our team work and we started clicking again! Amidst the fog of Madeira‘s most Icon forest Fanal Forest in the northwest of Madeira is known for its unique trees and the constant foggy layers. Once the fog occurs it becomes magical. Its always worth to go for a sunrise in Madeira! ☀️ This Sunrise at Miradouro do Guindaste was an interesting start to the day. The main roundabout is closed, but you can park on the street in front of it and take a 2 minute walk, where you can watch the Sunset from. However you can also go further through some tall grass & mud and you will be rewarded with this cliff leading right into the sunrise. My favorite moments from our Porto Santo Trip There is so much to see on this island.
