Greetings from Florida ☀️🦩🌺

Painted this little space back in December.
Was wonderful to set up shop amongst the trees and paint this amazing subject for a job.

Warm wishes! by @dillon_endico

🎉🌿 And just like that — we are HOME.
What an absolutely incredible weekend. From our Gallery Preview Party to the GROW Gala, from workshops to mimosas and everything in between — this Grand Reopening has been more beautiful than we ever could have imagined, and it is entirely because of YOU.
To every artist who trusted us with their work and their heart — thank you. To every musician who filled our new space with sound — thank you. To every volunteer who showed up and gave their time, their energy, and their love — thank you. To everyone who donated, supported, cheered us on from near and far, and walked through our doors this weekend — thank you. You are the reason Art Garden exists. You always have been. 💛
After nearly two years of rebuilding, we are so deeply grateful to be back — and we are just getting started. 🌱

Flashbacks to #paintmemphis2023 October of 2023. I work a lot and don’t get to paint consistently, so when I do get time on a wall or at the easel, it’s special. Sometimes I’ll put a lot of weight on the opportunity. I’d been looking forward to this moment and it felt big, personally and creatively. Truthfully though I don’t think I quite hit the mark on this one. Nonetheless it was incredibly fun and an awesome opportunity.

Coming into the event I had my wall switched on me but rose to the occasion to meet it. In doing so I had to scrap my original design. I painted with what I had, materials, colors, time and a loose concept in mind: a kid with a paintbrush, imagination wide open, looking out at the world they’re dreaming into. The face in the piece represents the manifestation of imagination, this ethereal colorful nameless “this”. A fun idea, but not strongly executed or designed. I went in without a clear plan, and while I love working intuitively, there’s a time for experimenting and a time for executing. I felt I had blurred the two. I’m still (and probably always) figuring out how I paint with spray paint as far as mark making, process and technique go. Beyond that I’m always questioning to understand why I paint and what feels true.. but maybe there’s a time and place for that too. I’m just trying to stay honest in the process and make peace with the pieces I make regardless of how they turn out. by @dillon_endico
