Week 5: Karnataka

This weekend, we journey to Karnataka, a land where ancient temples, classical music, intricate art, and remarkable cuisine come together to tell stories that have been preserved for centuries.

Our featured dish is Mavinakayi Menasinakayi Gojju (often simply called Mango Gojju) - a beloved traditional preparation made with ripe mangoes, jaggery, tamarind, and spices.
The dish beautifully captures the essence of Karnataka’s cuisine: the delicate balance of sweet, sour, spicy, and earthy flavors.

At Bungalow, we are also embracing Karnataka’s traditions through its decor and rituals. Guests will be welcomed by a traditional Rangoli, known locally as Rangavalli, crafted with rice, a centuries-old practice believed to invite prosperity and positivity into the home. Fresh mango leaf torans and vibrant marigold garlands adorn the entrance, reflecting the festive spirit seen across Karnataka’s temples and homes.

Every week reminds us that India’s greatest treasure is its diversity. One state. One story. One dish.
