Monet, Painting Time opens on 30 September at the @museeorangerie in Paris - and I had the chance to discover it a few days before the opening✨🌊

a century after Claude Monet left us, his paintings still have the power to suspend time. bringing together almost 40 works, the exhibition explores how he captured fleeting moments and transformed them into something eternal.

despite the people around me, I still had tears in my eyes as I stood before Irises and Water Lilies for the first time. a fleeting moment, suspended in time🥹

if you want to turn your visit into a complete Monet journey, I recommend beginning at the @museeorsay , where special route, dedicated to the master, unfolds across rooms 29–35 of the Impressionist gallery.

then cross the Seine to the Orangerie, where the journey reaches its culmination. visit Monet, Painting Time and finish with the monumental Water Lilies rooms - the perfect final immersion into Monet’s universe.

the exhibition runs until 25 January 2027 and then travels to @tate in London, UK.

A FILM AHEAD OF ITS TIME 🎀✨

20 years later, @sofiacoppola ’s Marie Antoinette is being celebrated at @chateauversailles , where much of it was filmed. there’s something striking about a palace so steeped in tradition embracing a film that was met with mixed reactions in 2006 - and has since become a cult classic.

as exhibition curator @helenedelalex pointed out, life at court revolved around l’art de paraître - the art of appearances. Marie Antoinette arrived as a teenager, watched, judged and expected to play a part. in the age of social media, doesn’t that pressure to shape how others see us feel familiar? 🫢

Coppola was ahead of her time. 20 years on, it feels as though we’re only now catching up with what she saw.

the exhibition at the Petit Trianon is intimate in scale. original costumes, props, on-set photographs and storyboards reveal how the world of the film was made, while scenes play in the very rooms where they were filmed.

WHEN ART HISTORY DOESN’T STAY IN THE PAST🤤✨

there are the exhibitions I love most: the ones where you can follow an idea across generations and watch it become something new. a composition, a colour, a way of looking, reimagined through someone else’s eyes.

at the @le_grand_palais , Cézanne’s paintings meet those of his contemporaries and the generations that followed, from Gauguin and Matisse to Joan Mitchell and Peter Doig. you start seeing echoes everywhere.

“As Seen Below – The Dome” at @arosartmuseum in Aarhus is @jamesturell ‘s 100th Skyspace and the largest he has ever created in a museum context – a dome measuring 16 metres high and 40 metres in diameter🪐

for more than half a century, this American artist has worked with light, space and perception. but perhaps the simplest way to describe his art is this: light doesn’t illuminate the artwork. light is the artwork.

inside a Skyspace, the real sky is framed by an opening in the ceiling, while carefully programmed light changes the way your eyes perceive it. for me, experiencing Turrell’s work feels almost spiritual – architecture disappears, time slows down, and the simple act of looking becomes the entire experience.

i’d been waiting for this opening since last summer. i even planned a trip to Denmark in 2025 around it, when the Skyspace was supposed to open – but it wasn’t ready in time. so when it finally opened this June, i knew i had to return.

the rest of ARoS is no less impressive, with plenty of masterpieces throughout its collection. standard museum admission includes access to As Seen Below, but my strongest recommendation is to book a separate Twilight session at sunrise or sunset and set aside around an hour. as daylight changes, the real sky becomes part of the installation, while the colours inside the dome transform the way you see it✨

come spend 48 hours with me in #Athens 🇬🇷

from ancient treasures to contemporary-art discoveries, perfect tomatoes and a cheesecake I would fly back for - all before catching a ferry to the Greek islands. I may have even added a work by @guglielmocastelli to my Christmas wishlist - just swipe to slide 18 (Santa, please🥹😅).

it was only my second time in Athens, but definitely not my last. save this for your next trip… or maybe I should organize the next one? 👀

did you know Rothko became “Rothko” in Florence?

@palazzostrozzi is currently hosting a major retrospective of Mark Rothko, bringing together extraordinary works, many of which have never been shown in Italy before.

but what fascinated me even more were the two special sections across Florence - at Museo di San Marco @museodisanmarco and the Laurentian Library.

when Rothko first visited Florence in 1950, he spent hours inside the convent of San Marco, deeply moved by Fra Angelico’s frescoes. it wasn’t just the paintings that captivated him, but the harmony between light, architecture and silence. years later, Rothko would even say he dreamed of creating spaces where an entire room could become a place for contemplation.

seeing their works side by side, separated by more than five centuries, suddenly makes perfect sense. different artistic languages, yet the same search for light, stillness and the spiritual.

if you’re in Florence this summer, don’t miss it.

you have just one month left to experience one of the most poetic exhibitions in Paris✨

for “Calder. Rêver en équilibre”, the @fondationlv brings together nearly 300 works by Alexander Calder ( @calderfoundation ), one of the pioneers of kinetic sculpture.

what fascinates me every time i come back is how Calder transforms metal into something that feels almost alive. his mobiles move so effortlessly that the sculptures never seem completely still, while the shadows they cast become an extension of the artwork itself - a quiet theatre of light, movement and poetry.

every shift of air creates a new composition, one that will never exist in exactly the same way again. it’s a gentle reminder that the most beautiful things are often the most fleeting, always changing, just like life itself🖤

one of the most poetic exhibitions of the season - and absolutely worth seeing.

come spend a day with me in Margate, one of England’s best-kept seaside secrets🇬🇧

Margate isn’t just where @traceyeminstudio lives and works. it’s where she’s helping shape the next generation of artists through @tracey_emin_artist_residency . I was lucky enough to meet some of them (coucou @avstreyh and @liza.zalieva 🖤), step inside their studios, and understand their work a little differently.

seeing the place where one of the works in my collection was created made this trip even more meaningful.

a day full of art discoveries, incredible food, seaside walks and, most importantly, inspiring conversations with wonderful artists🧜🏼‍♂️🌊😌

this new installation in Paris will make you disappear🫢☁️

for the exhibition « Clair-Obscur », Japanese artist Fujiko Nakaya filled the Rotunda of the @boursedecommerce with a giant cloud that constantly changes shape, swallowing visitors and revealing them again seconds later.

one of the most poetic installations in Paris right now - and definitely a must-see!!
