I am deeply honored to have won Gold for my modern interpretation of the "Resurrection" at the London Photography awards.

Such a huge project cannot be done without the help of many many people in front and behind of the camera and I think it is fair to say that this Win belongs to all of us!

I am deeply honored to have received an honourable mention for my photograph "Sunset Flight" in the street photography category of the Siena Awards. Everything, the tours the talks and the award ceremony were beyond my expectations and after having taken part in it I know why SIPA is called the Oscar of photography.
More important than the award, however, was getting to know so many fellow photographers all over the world and seeing the incredible work they are creating. Never have I met so many talented people in just few days. Thank you for all the inspiration and hope to see you again next year!

Zuallerletzt natürlich danke an @timmefi_visuals, @psychologiemitandreas

/English: I am incredibly happy for winning the art award of the Ruhr-Ennepe region with my presentation of 16 emotional animal portraits from the jungles, forests and savannah's of our planet. My work, along with that of the other 2 winners and the 17 nominees is on display in the @maerkisches_museum_witten
for one more week.

I had a great time at @contemporaryartruhr.de showing some of my work and giving a presentation about my approach to street photography.
I am especially grateful to Britta Blom art consulting for giving me the opportunity to showcase my photograpy on one of her walls. Thank you also to all the people who came to see my work, hear me speak or just have a casual chat.

Lastly, thank you @phibo.studio for spontaneously taking some cool shots (1,4,5,6,7) . I really appreciate to have some photos of me taken by a fellow photographer. Normally we photographers, being behind the camera, are the ones who never appear in any pictures.

Hope to see you all again next year. taken in Zeche Zollverein, Essen by @dima_ges_

Aging Superheroes - Dortmund, 2026

My grandfather was a war hero fighting Nazi Germany in WW2, but after reaching a certain age no one, except close family, seemed to care about him and his feats. My grandfather passed away a few years ago, but what had happened to him made me reflect on how we as a society treat our elders.

Superheroes might save the world, but when they become old nobody seems to care any longer. Too often our elders are forsaken and forgotten. My latest work "Aging Superheroes" is an attempt to visualize this issue.

I have been working on this project for several months:

1) I needed a visually appealing retirement home to set the scene. Luckily, the great team of "Haus am Tiefenbach" offered their beautiful assembly hall.

2) Finding models was tricky, because usually friends and friends of friends play this part in my pictures.

3) Buying vintage superhero costumes is surprisingly difficult.

4) Finding the right composition, light scheme etc. takes a lot If time and testing.

In the end we had a very narrow shooting window of just two hours due to the sun's path, so everything had to go according to plan without the slightest delay. Luckily, it did, since @berguecan and @xxmapierzz really helped me where they could.

A big thank you goes to all the helpers and of course the models without whom this work would not have been possible.

Some behind the scenes impressions from my latest art project about aging superheroes. All the footage was shot, cut and color graded on the same day by the one and only @andy_lien_ . Thank you once again for capturing these beautiful moments, Andy!

Also a big thank you @seniorenheime_dortmund for giving me the opportunity to use this beautiful location for my project.

Final image coming soon, stay tuned.

An Ode to a Cat p.1 - While staying in Milos we made a cat friend and I am not using this word lightly. Never in my life have I met a cat with the loyalty of a dog. She came when I called her over, went with me for walks, slept on my chest after dusk and even brought me a huge rat as a present. Since bringing this cat back to Germany was not an option I at least immortalized her the best way I could - taking a variety of photographs.
