Yes! I just added an icon to a map that is already finished. Lighthouses are awesome and this cliff was begging for one. @vanessarasanenauthor, don’t worry I can tear it down immediately. 😉 I love rocky coasts, we dutchies only have sand beaches.

Do all the features on your fantasy map look a bit…flat? If you want to quickly step up the quality of your maps for the book you’re writing, or your next rpg campaign, then learning how to add some depth to can go a long way.

If you are at all familiar with the work of Gerralt Landman (@dimensiondoor_maps ), then you’ll know he’s a master at creating maps with a ton of dimension.

In this special guest tutorial, Gerralt will share with you some of his secrets and the things he looks for to help you add more depth to your next fantasy map.

Happy Mapping!

When I dream, I dream big. It’s the same way I write ✍️. When we read, we pay for these stories with our time, and they should sweep us away ✨When I look at my books, I want to relive those journeys. 🍃 I don’t want vague reminders, I want to be swept up and called back into the pages. So when I found @dimensiondoor_maps 🌌 I couldn’t resist. Another artist who dreams big and displays worlds on a different type of page. Welcome to the first glimpse of Terr, where a new kind of journey is about to begin.
Thank you @fableversestudio for this incredible voice over. It brought me to tears. And @steelfeather for this incredible song that captures the essence of this story. #jrcathers #childofshivay #indieauthor #romantasy #veilsofterr by @dimensiondoor_maps

When we can’t find this girl she is almost certainly tucked away somewhere drawing while listening to music or audiobooks. Her way of getting rid of a sensory overload. I promised Elin she could help me one day drawing my maps. I think we’ve reached that point. Next time I’ll let her make them all pink. #fantasymap #illustration #procreate #worldbuilding by @dimensiondoor_maps
