A bold new exhibition and glittering ode to what survives after the music stops, and a must-see for lovers of Melbourne vintage fashion.
This free exhibition brings together historic treasures and striking contemporary works by queer creatives Gerard O’Connor, Richard Nylon and Gwendolynne. Together with National Trust’s Senior Curator Elizabeth Anya-Petrivna, they create a kaleidoscope of queer resilience and joy, revealing how the after-party lives on through memory, material and community.

Here’s my latest amateur sewing attempt! I’ve upcycled this velvet bolero and added some patches I’ve beaded and stitched. The images of old paintings on fabric were purchased from @stitchandfable and inspired the look. I added the words “Past it” on the back because I wanted to reclaim this old sexist ageist slur.
