A thought: Sometimes one photograph tells a story; sometimes a few are needed to paint a scene. Yet what we see is never the whole truth. A single moment, a gesture, the editing, and the way images are arranged can all influence how we receive what is before us. We can see the frame, but we can never truly know what lies within the person behind it.

Perhaps we do not simply receive a photograph; we enter into it. We bring our own memories, perspectives and emotions, allowing what we see to resonate with something within us. The photograph tells one story, while its surrounding elements influence, shape and perhaps enhance it. Yet every viewer completes it through an interpretation of their own.

We do not simply see the story. We become part of it.

An evening photo walk through East Central London 📸

Started in the Barbican and made our way to Monument Bridge, capturing portraits, candid moments and photographic stories along the way.

For these shots, I mostly shot from the hip, pointed, looked away and hoped for the best 🤲🏾. Sometimes I just asked with a smile.

I’d really encourage joining a photography community. I joined @dinasimages monthly photo walk; a welcoming space to walk, talk, shoot and learn from each other 🫵🏾📸

The photowalk journey!

Portraits I’ve taken over the months, from my first photowalk in October, to my most recent last month. I set these up with the vision of meeting other photographer friends, getting out and encouraging one another to shoot more. 9 photowalks later, I’m joined by an incredible community of people.
