Saturday 21st November An Díseart 1:30pm - 2:30pm €12 Why has the short story so often been seen as the novel’s less celebrated cousin? Award winning writers Geraldine Mills and Tanya Farrelly come together to challenge that perception and celebrate the power of short fiction. Reading from their latest collections, "Survival Games" and "The Marionette and the Maestro", they will explore what makes the short story such a precise, compelling and distinctive literary form. They will also discuss the vital role independent publishers play in championing short fiction. Miriam O’Callaghan has been an ever-present on our radios and television screens since the early 90s – but how well do we really know her? Settle in for an afternoon with Miriam as she discusses her high-profile media career, grief, controversies and motherhood – themes covered in her wonderfully open memoir 'Miriam: Life, Work, Everything', which was shortlisted for Biography of the Year at the Irish Book Awards 2025. Miriam will be in conversation with Niall McDowell, chair of the Dingle Literary Festival board. Much like Miriam's memoir itself, this promises to be a frank, insightful and uplifting conversation. @instmiriam by @dingle.lit

Booker Prize-longlisted and Granta Best of British Young Novelists author Natasha Brown speaks about the creative marketing strategies behind her novel 'Universality'. Moving beyond traditional publicity, Natasha developed a suite of unconventional, in-world promotional materials — including a fictional magazine, an investigation board, and bespoke social media and podcast assets — all created on a shoestring budget and without the use of AI! If you're an aspiring writer, or work in a creative industry, this is not to be missed. Book your spot via the link in our bio or at www.dinglelit.ie/events. by @dingle.lit
