When your favorite local British pub teams up with star chef Ron McKinlay for a dinner collab, you know it’s going to be a bloody good time.

We’re talking steak tartare crumpets with royal ossetra caviar.

Shrimp scotch egg in chip shop curry.

Prime rib with sweetbread pie that needs to come back for Sunday roast.

Then a decadent stout tart with burnt nori and brown butter sauce stole the show. Brilliant.

The homemade Percy Pigs were a nice touch. We happily rolled ourselves out of there.

Bartender Anissa Dingle (@lttllolita) admits she was scared to even taste vanilla vodka at first, worried it would push her Pornstar Martini into overly sweet territory. It doesn't. At Dingles Public House (@dingles.sf), she cuts the vodka with Rhine Hall mango eau de vie sourced from Mexican fruit, layering in passionfruit syrup, lime, and egg white. A Blanc de Blanc sidecar rides alongside, meant to be sipped between mouthfuls of the cocktail to reset the palate. The drink traces back to English gentlemen's clubs, originally built for the women dancing there rather than the men watching, and Dingle wanted her version to carry some of that same lush, tropical indulgence without tipping into cloying. by @dingles.sf

Revisited the very delicious dingles public house, the modern British gastropub in San Francisco by husband and wife duo chef George and Anissa dingle, and there was a new to me dish on the menu that blew my mind: the lions mane mushroom tikka masala pie. Developed in tandem by their exec sous Tommy Shan, the masala is super heady spicy creamy and pfg. It’s baked like a pie w the buttery crust (inspired by ghymkhana biryani iykyk), and you don’t miss the meat one minute. 🦁✨ @dingles.sf taken in San Francisco, California by @dingles.sf
