I didn’t take many photos at @dingofestival . I was too busy helping it happen. But there’s so much I’ll carry with me.

The last few months have been quite an experience. At first, I was overwhelmed by how much we were trying to pull together in such a short time. It felt like a million ideas were being thrown at the wall. Some stuck, some didn’t, and I’m sure many of those that didn’t will find their way into the world at another time, in another way.

It took me a while to see the full vision. In the meantime, I went in each day thinking, “I’ll help pull this together the best I can.”

Much of my work until now has been about bringing my own visions to life. This time, as Event Manager, I was helping bring a shared vision to life, with so many people and ideas finding their place within it. Some stretched my imagination. Some bent my brain. Some felt more than a little crazy. Looking at what it all became, I’m so pleased I went along for the ride.

To my friends @lifeunfilteredcoaching @livingartcreative @emily_lubitz who threw my name into the ring, thank you for believing in me. To the DINGO partners @wondercoreisland @mainarmrecords @daihovey @_florecords @mattrabbidge @midi_of_sully @s_t_u_e_y_ , thank you for trusting me to help guide the journey.

To everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, the Bangalow community who opened their doors, the volunteers who gave their time and care, the artists who filled the shire with music, and everyone who came along and gave something new a chance, thank you!!

And @saltysiedog!!! I don’t quite have the words. The sheer effort, care and heart you poured into this was extraordinary. I’m so grateful to have been beside you.

The friendships I’ve made along the way, and this whole experience, have been life-changing for me.

When the candle stand on an 108yr old piano is the perfect spot for your @beudiagave drink, while casually playing some classical tunes!

Meeting Angus (@naice_pianos) at @dingofestival, he is one of the unsung heroes you probably didn’t come across or hear about his involvement. He spent 80+ hours pulling apart Phyllis the piano, to repair, retune & restore her to be performance ready for all the artist that would end up playing their beautiful music during the festival in the A&I hall.

He was constantly on standby, at the ready to fix whatever issues came up with Phyllis, which for an 108yo instrument, you can imagine was quite stressful!

Here he’s just casually pulling the keys out & showing me the mechanics of a grand piano. Something truly magical about how it all came together. And to hear it in person… what a treat!
