Another asym with a pickefork style nose, which is a throwback to the twin tip pickle forks we rode back in the early 2000’s. I’m burning 🔥 to give this a proper go. But winter is here for a while.

Stage 3 of shaping a strapless kite surfboard with local legend @dingosurfboards.

It’s taking shape! Amazing to see the foam turn into a slick board! In this reel the design is coming to life. Measure, measure, measure and more measuring! So stoked, this board is going to be a weapon! Subtle concaves, perfect rails, and it has the dingo prints!!

Decided to call the model “Busta Finn” because it’s made to bust fins out the back of the wave! Final dimensions are 5’4” x 17 1/2” x 2 1/16”

Next stage is glassing the board and dry sanding but it’s no place for me because of the fumes and dust. So we’ll leave that part to the pro. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!

Stage 2 of hand shaping a strapless kite surfboard with local legend @dingosurfboards.

In this reel we have the blank!!! It’s a slightly denser foam because I want a board that will withstand the extra pressures of wave kiting and to use in solid waves like Main Break Margaret River.

Now it’s time to start shaping it into a board with my custom dimensions. So many things to consider with some secret tips along the way. Safety is always a priority in the dingo surfboards shaping bay, but poly urethane foam is safe to touch.

For my school project this year I’m hand shaping a strapless kite surfboard with local legend @dingosurfboards. It’s a lot to ask and I’m so stoked we could make it happen! It’s a huge privilege for me to be in the shaping bay and so involved in the shaping process.

Stage 1: In this reel I’m measuring a board to get a template before customizing my dimensions.
