Treats of the holiday season! Some sweet, some savory, all delicious & would make again 🎄✨

Pics 1-4: Tiramisu Cookies by @justine_snacks . These are as incredible as they sound. Thick & doughy like a Sugar Shane’s cookie for my ATL friends
5-8: Slice & Bake Cheddar Cheese Coins by @crowded_kitchen . Like a better version than a cheeze-it and a fun savory mixup. These and the Tiramisu Cookies were perfect for the Cookbook Club holiday cookie party
9-10: Christmas Cheese Tree Ball also by @crowded_kitchen . This was SO EASY and so delicious with crackers on the side. Traveled well for the Christmas party we attended
11-13: Brownie Pudding by @inagarten . This recipe went viral this past year and for good reason. Another crowd pleaser for the Christmas party that we hosted. I was hoping to get leftovers but had none since everyone wanted more. Make sure to add ice cream!
14-15: Treated ourselves to the Holiday Cookie Box from @littletartbakeshop . We love this hometown bakery! taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @diningwithdanie

FRESH PASTA SALAD 🥗
My good friend @abbysalyer17 shared this with me and I made it the very next week at home. Doesn’t look like much but this dish has become a staple in our house. It feels weird calling it a pasta salad bc it doesn’t have mayonnaise and is good for you. Takes 20mins to make and that’s mostly just cooking the pasta. Then you have a weeks worth of dinner done. Customize it however you like. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
• Bow tie pasta
• Roasted chicken
• Roasted vegetables like cherry tomatoes, onions, cauliflower, etc.
• Bag of fresh spinach, chopped
• strawberries (I didn’t have any so I used blueberries)
• 8oz of cubed hard cheese, like aged cheddar
• Handful of nuts like walnuts or cashews
• Light salad dressing like Giardines

Directions:
• Roast the chicken and vegetables at 375 for 25mins or until done
• Cook the pasta to al dente
• Mix everything in a bowl besides the dressing
• Serve up and now add the dressing. Enjoy! taken in Midtown by @diningwithdanie

LEMON TOMATO CHICKEN ROAST with harvest grain salad 🍋
This has been my go-to summer meal for both keeping at home and bringing to friends to share. I serve the roasted chicken & veggies over the grain salad with a side of tzatziki. Simple, delicious, and good for you too

For chicken:
- I used chicken breast & thighs but you can use either
- season with salt, pepper, dried oregano, olive oil
- laid sliced lemons on top of the chicken breast
- spread cherry tomatoes and quartered onions around the sheet pan
- drizzle olive oil, salt & pepper over veggies
- roast at 400 for about 30 minutes or until cooked through

Grain Salad: (picture of what I used from TJ’s is at the end)
- cook farro, couscous, rice, or a blend of all the grains according to package directions
- once done cooking, mix with the juice of a lemon and sliced green onions
- additional add-ins like crumbled feta cheese or raisins would also be great taken in Midtown by @diningwithdanie

CHOCOLATE TORTINO 🍫
A tortino is a small Italian cake. Imagine your own personal chocolate lava cake with a delicious, gooey chocolate center. Individual portions make great for guests. Best part is it can be ready in 15mins 😋

Ingredients for 3 to 4 Cakes:
• 5.4 oz dark (60% cacao or bittersweet) chocolate
• 1/3 cup salted butter
• 2 whole large eggs and 1 additional egg yolk
• 1/3 cup sugar
• 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
• 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
Directions:
•Preheat oven to 350 F
• Melt chocolate and butter using a microwave. Stir after each 30 seconds. When smooth, set aside
• In a medium bowl, add eggs and extra yolk. Whisk until bubbly
• Add sugar and mix well
• Stir in cooled chocolate mixture
• Add flour and cocoa (these are your only dry ingredients and why it keeps the inside of the cake gooey)
• Pour into lightly buttered ramekins or cup cake tins, filling 3/4 full
• Refrigerate for at least an hour
• Bake 10/12 min or until top of batter starts to bubble
• Serve warm, preferably with whipped cream or ice cream
• Enjoy! taken in Midtown by @diningwithdanie

Mary Mac’s Team Room aka “Atlanta’s Dining Room” 🌟

Arguably Atlanta’s most recognized restaurant, Mary Mac’s Tea Room captures the heart of the South. It tastes like one big hug from their fried chicken (which has won best in the state), to their meatloaf, to the mini cinnamon rolls in the bread basket. They make everything from scratch the same way they did when they opened in 1945 (try the tomato pie!). A great place to show visitors the heart of Atlanta. Just make sure to get there when they open so you don’t have to wait because they have never taken reservations, and likely never will. Read below for their history on how they were started by one badass southern woman.

Humble Beginnings: Back in 1945, Mary MacKenzie opened Mary Mac’s Tea Room near Peachtree Street on Ponce de Leon Avenue. In those tough days right after the end of World War II, enterprising women in search of a living, some of them mothers widowed by the war, were establishing restaurants all over Atlanta. At the time, a woman couldn’t just open up a restaurant, so many female proprietors used the more refined Southern name of “Tea Room.” Mary Mac’s Tea Room was one of 16 tearooms in Atlanta and seated 75 guests. Today, Mary Mac’s is the only original tearoom that remains. taken in Mary Mac's Tea Room by @diningwithdanie

BANANA BREAD MUG CAKE 🍌☕️
It’s chilly here in Atlanta. To warm up, I wanted something delicious & cozy, but not bad for you. Enter: this banana mug cake. It only takes 5 minutes to make and tastes like a warm hug. Added bonus when you enjoy with a cup of tea on the side. Perfect for a nice night in or breakfast tomorrow! Enjoy!

Ingredients
• 1 medium overly ripe banana, mashed (you want a very brown banana)
• 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil
• 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup
• 1 large egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
• 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (optional, but I HIGHLY suggest adding them to have the cake be nice and gooey)

Directions:
• In your favorite large mug (about 10 ounces - like my Atlanta one), stir together the mashed bananas, coconut oil, honey, egg, and vanilla until combined
• Add the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt, mix until just combined
• Fold in the chocolate chunks
• Microwave on full power for 1 minute and 35 seconds. This is a good time for most microwaves but if yours is still a little underdone, continue to cook by 15 second increments. But be careful not to overcook - it’s better when it’s slightly “underbaked”
• Eat warm with a smear of butter and a drizzle of maple syrup. Enjoy! taken in Midtown by @diningwithdanie

LAZY BETTY 🌟
Ending this year by highlighting the best restaurant we went to in 2021. For my birthday in November, we went to @lazybettyatl . They are a high-concept restaurant serving innovative tasting menus. The technical expertise, unique flavors, and welcoming staff made this a night to remember. I highly suggest getting a seat at the bar so you can watch both your mixologist and chefs make you delicious drinks & plates. If you have a reason to celebrate soon, I definitely suggest going here! taken in Lazy Betty - Atlanta by @diningwithdanie
