Reclaiming Joy (and Sharing It With You)
My path over the last few years has taken turns I never expected:
December 2022: First cancer diagnosis.
October 2023: Declared cancer-free after radiation, chemotherapy, and two surgeries.
August 2026: Re-diagnosed.
Describing everything that has lived in the spaces between those dates is a story I am carefully weaving together on my Substack (The Restored Life / Dreamweaver by Deena). But today, I am choosing to lean into what keeps my heart light, hopeful, and true: creating things that bring genuine joy to others—whether through curated experiences, beautiful food, or whimsical, kitschy art.
Introducing: The Monthly Charcuterie Board Subscription
To share that joy in a tangible way, I am launching a monthly Charcuterie Board Subscription!
Pickup Day: This month will be Friday, October 30. For you trick or treat nights, the grown ups can have their own treat while handing out treats, or for the end of the night after walking your kids for miles….treat yourself back home!
Frequency: Currently once a month (with plans to expand to twice a month as we grow).
Holiday Extras: Subscribers receive first-look access and priority booking for special holiday-themed boards!
The Heart (and Purpose) Behind the Boards
Creating these boards is more than just an artistic outlet for me—it’s also a practical way I can help support my family.
My wonderful husband, Seth, has carried so much of our financial responsibility throughout this journey. Launching this subscription gives me a meaningful piece of ownership in our path forward, directly helping cover our travel expenses for treatment, gas money to and from Kansas City, and ongoing medical costs. Every board picked up helps lighten the load and fuels the restoration we are building together.

Hi! I wanted to tell you a Secret I've been keeping........It's my Secret Supper Club! Shhhhhhhhh......Once a month. Actually the 2nd Friday of Each month, I host up to 10 people to a 5 course, carefully curated, connecting, multi-sensory experience. Each month has a different theme. You must contact me to get on the list to attend. First Come, First Serve. Next Friday, April 11 had a cancellation, so I do have spots available. Next recipe tackled…Never made homemade mustard…and DID NOT KNOW, how spicy ground mustard is! This is a Sweet/Spicy Mustard that is used on the fried Bologna sandwich. I definitely needed a good quality bologna, because Oscar Mayer bologna, didn’t make it great. But, that’s how cooking goes, some don’t turn out great. But I did learn something new, and I do have one more recipe from this book, Turkey and the Wolf, behind me! #friedbolgnasandwich #turkeyandthewolfnola #cookthebook by @dinnerwithdeena

Recipe No. 2 from Turkey and the Wolf….first time I have ever pickled celery or fried apple slices….the chef said he was inspired by the classic 80’s Waldorf Salad, with apples, celery etc….my is on the green platter, the other is from the book.
