One particular moment touched my heart.

After the show, a beautiful little girl had her mother seek me out to tell me that my story moved her, then asked to take a picture with me. That meant more than I can fully express.

Beautiful inside and out!

She may not have understood every word or every layer, but she felt something. And that is the power of sharing our stories.

Storytelling creates connection. It builds empathy. It helps us see ourselves and each other with a little more grace.

Moments like this are why we share.

Still reflecting on the 2026 VA Black Film Festival

Not only was our film screened and honored, but we also had the privilege of sharing space with true Black legends. To be in the room with Lifetime Achievement recipients and pioneers @msdaphne13 / Daphne Reid, and Keith David, along with the just as incredible @timreidsr , all of whom
helped shape film, television, and storytelling as we know it was powerful.

What moved me most was not just their accomplishments, but their spirit. They were kind. Grounded. Gracious. They carried decades of excellence with humility. That alone spoke volumes.

There was something deeply affirming about celebrating our work during the 100 year observance of Black History Month while standing alongside those who paved the way. It felt full circle. It felt sacred.

Moments like this remind me why we do the work. Representation matters. Legacy matters. Community matters.

More reflections to come.

Peace Family,

I'm still riding the high from co-facilitating the Creative Expressions Workshop in Charlotte, NC!

It was an honor to represent both @a_night_of_artistic_renewal Hope, Healing, and Triumph l as a performing artist and The Power of the Arts, Inc. as its Vice President.

There's something truly powerful about creating spaces where young people can discover their voices, embrace their creativity, and express themselves unapologetically. Our youth truly are luminous and limitless

A heartfelt thank you to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas for their partnership and to our captain @dionnedhunter for her vision and leadership.

Special appreciation to my fellow facilitator @themandalamoon and @sherridasmith for providing mental health support

Gratitude also goes to the Arts & Science Council for its Community Connector Grant and Huntington Bank for supporting this meaningful initiative.

What a wonderful Sunday afternoon! 🎶❤️

I had the pleasure of seeing the Marvin Gaye musical this weekend, and what a touching experience it was!

I learned so much about Marvin Gaye’s life and personal history, along with some fascinating pieces of music history that I wasn’t aware of. I always appreciate an experience that not only entertains but also teaches me something new.

And the MUSIC! 🎤🎵 They were definitely on point! There were moments when the music had the entire audience going, and if you know, you know! 🙌🏽

I’m so glad I went. It was a beautiful afternoon filled with soul!!

If you get a chance to see this production, I definitely recommend checking it out!
