🤘🏆 DEMONDOLLS WINS VIMA BEST ROCK SONG 2026!

The irony isn't lost on us.

A song called "Bad News" has just delivered some very good news.

Malaysia's glam-meets-grunge rock rebels DEMONDOLLS have officially claimed the VIMA Gold Crystal Award for Best Rock Song, proving once again that rock music is alive, loud and kicking.

More than just a band, DEMONDOLLS has become one of the driving forces behind the Malaysian Rock Is Not Dead movement. Known for their leather-clad style, heavy eyeliner, infectious energy and community-first approach to live shows, they've built a reputation for turning concerts into celebrations where everyone belongs.

With Bad News, the band unveiled a darker, heavier and punchier sound, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their evolution.

🏆 VIMA BEST ROCK SONG WINNERS

🥇 GOLD CRYSTAL AWARD
Bad News – DEMONDOLLS

🥈 SILVER CRYSTAL AWARD
Grief's Embrace – Faraday (Singapore)

🥉 BRONZE CRYSTAL AWARD (TIE)
Vendetta – Diorama (Singapore)
Kau Selalu – Ordin J. (Sabah)

A huge congratulations to Singapore's Faraday, whose powerful post-hardcore anthem Grief's Embrace continues to resonate with audiences through its emotional exploration of loss, resilience and hope.

The category also saw a rare Bronze tie between Singapore's Diorama and Sabah's Ordin J., showcasing the incredible diversity of rock music across the region.

🎖 TOP 6 CERTIFICATES

4️⃣ Rakus DiBumi Asing – Monosterio

5️⃣ Raven – Tell Lie Vision (Singapore)

6️⃣ (TIE) Suatu Masa Dulu – Episodic

6️⃣ (TIE) Api & Bunyi – Ethnic Transmissions (Sarawak)

🌏 All Top 6 winning acts automatically advance to VIMA Music Awards Phase 2, launching in Q3 2026, where they will represent their music against artists from Southeast Asia, South Asia and the rest of the world.

And because VIMA believes great music deserves more than one opportunity, remaining nominees will also receive an early chance to re-submit their entries for Phase 2 consideration.

📅 Awards and certificates will be presented from July onwards, with the VIMA Team contacting all winners directly. by @dioramaband
