It’s so hard to be a cliche!

You wanna be soo happy so thankful so excited that you forget to weep and yet my heart my heart…is such a mixtape of happiness and true sad lost ness .

Lost without this precious soul of my son next room over close.

It’s kinda confusing how I’m so proud and yet I just wanna sit in a corner… and fall apart.

I will be all of the things because that’s just being human.

What a beautiful wondrous rhapsody of life … raising kids is.

How thankful I am. Thank you for doing this journey with me my love @alimiballard … #NoGreaterLove

I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since my sister passed. Like wow and how! 🙏🏾

I took time this week to spend intentional moments with her.

Look at her pictures listen to her voice. Play her favorite songs. Listen to her messages remember her advice and revel in the time we had.

I also told her about my year but she already knew and on top of that most of it was her angel handiwork … 🕊️

I told her thanks 😊

Still bossy from beyond 😌

I told her I cried a lot a lot this year but I also loved a lot worked a lot and tried to stay focused.

She said she knows.

Said to keep going but take more breaks.

Take more time to sip lemonade extra ice and trust more and worry less.

I said I would. .. TRY hard 🙏🏾 she laughed. She knows me well.

I asked how she was… she said she likes it over there that she feels peaceful restful and all the spirit bodies are really welcoming.

I said cool!

She said that she Mom Dad Grandma Mama Auntie Uncle hang out at least once a week. They are extra loud everyone talking over each other it’s hard to get a word in edgewise.

I told her of course and I’d expect nothing less. 😌🙏🏾

I’m happy for her.

I said send everyone my love.

She said they already know everyone hangs close … watching praying helping. … watching praying 🙏🏾

I said … right of course and thank you 😌

I told her I miss her terribly and love her.

She said she knows

and loves and misses me right back.

then she let me know that I’m doing a good job.

I needed to hear that. 💫🙏🏾

I’m Super glad … We still do love well.

Still skipping twirling and glowing from such an impactful important and immersive week.

Our family was so honored to be invited to sit with committed leaders in the uplifting of our children at the inaugural #EveryChildThrivesevent #hosted by the @kellogfoundation at @obamalibrary

We were so well taken care of… fed food culture and knowledge.

My heart and mind are still processing all that was seen and learned.

So grateful to have opportunities to speak of our SEL learning tool #HowToSurviveAnAlienInvasion in rooms with others whose passion is to create safe spaces for young humans to learn play and thrive.

@etthehiphoppreacher your mic drop was epic @sherrieshepherd you never cease to inspire.

Excited to have come away with connections of heart and mind.

Chicago owes us nothing.
