Could not have picked a sicker individual to write a sicker episode with on a more sicko show than @jordypizza and EP 204 “10th Quarter” of @chadpowershulu

thank you to our Executive Producers @fakemichaelwaldron @luvh.rakhe @adamfasullo @ben_brown73 for believing I could be as fucked up as this show is and trusting us with the episode.

Shitfly

John, a delivery driver in wildfire-ravaged Los Angeles, is trapped in a relentless cycle of work for the oppressive ABRA Corp to pay off his dying father’s medical debt. Living in his van, he avoids facing his father’s mortality, despite his sister Grace’s persistent calls urging him to visit. As the toxic environment worsens his health, a fly appears in his van, serving as a haunting reminder of the reality he refuses to face. When John rediscovers a forgotten package meant for his father, he’s finally compelled to leave the chaos of the city and face the truth he’s been avoiding.

🎬 NEW EPISODE @visualintonation 🎧 We sat down with filmmaker Rickey Larke — heart, hustle & purpose in every frame. From sneaking candy into AMC Bolingbrook 🍬 to premiering ‘The Black Bart of Taco King #17’ at Essence 🎥, Rickey’s journey is all grind, no shortcuts. From PA gigs to HBO desks to NBCU producing, he’s built his career brick by brick — paying dues (and even gaffers 💸) out of pocket. This convo is for the dreamers, the doers, and anyone who believes in storytelling that hits harder than credits ever could.

#ABFF has a special place in my 🫶🏾 forever. Swipe right to see #myabffstory through the years and me all glowed up for #abff2025

• 2016 - My first ABFF chilling poolside at the W hotel before watching the screening for #Flowers by @nikyatu - one of the dopest shorts i’ve ever seen.

• 2017 - Cast photo with @jasmineelliscooper and @being.historic after shooting a short film in one day and before seeing @dionce_knowledge classic short #WeLoveMoses

• 2023 - My first festival as a contributor with the legendary @thelyandre during his world premiere of #thirdwheelmaterial and #lovetrials

• 2025 - The premiere of @tacokingxvii (The Black Bart of Taco King #17) this saturday in the Voice of Culture Showcase for the @americanblackfilmfestival written and @directedbylarke taken in Miami, Florida by @directedbylarke
