“Yo Soy Jíbara, Yo Soy Jíbaro, Aquí Estamos Y No Nos Vamos.”
This video is more than a promotion for the 8th Annual Knickerbocker Avenue Puerto Rican Day Parade. It is the beginning of us telling our story, honoring our roots, celebrating our culture, and ensuring that our traditions continue for future generations.
A special thank you to artist @dannycortesnyc for lending his talent and helping bring this vision to life.
Special thanks to @elisabetvelasquezpoetry for writing and beautifully reciting the poem featured as the voiceover, bringing this year’s theme to life through her powerful words.
Produced by @directedbyra of @uptothemoon whose creativity and dedication helped transform an idea into a powerful visual story.
Thank you to our production assistants @jedi_yansen and @bjorksters, as well as our amazing extras:@holla_back_window_tinting @eddiegonzalez6961 @pleaselookatmyari @bribae.b @g_l1159 @bradsterpics @thegoodgoodcollective @legendarycameraman, community members, and supporters who generously gave their time and energy to make this project possible.
This video represents who we are, where we come from, and the pride we carry every day. It is a celebration of our culture, our resilience, and our community.
This is only the beginning of us telling our story. No words can fully express how grateful we are to everyone who helped make this project a reality. Thank you for believing in our vision and helping us share our story.
Aquí estamos y no nos vamos.

if you’ve ever seen my work, you know that I believe in the beauty of simplicity … no flashy trendy edits needed, no gimmicks. all composition, flow and allowing moments to breathe and of course using color to immerse the viewer into worlds

in the last few months there’s been over 1400 new supporters here without posting at all and I’m super grateful to be able to share some of my things that you may have not seen just yet 😉 by @directedbyra

it was a dream seeing the DOST audience irl for the first time at the new friends* after party

you all were literally the kindest people with a genuine love for music, to be in a night club with that much warmth and love was unreal

some of you said you flew out for this and traveled alone?! my jaw dropped. like what?!? thank you so much for trusting us with your time and your ears. fr never taking the DOST community for granted. it all finally felt so real, thank you so much.

thank you to our dj’s who brought the night to life seeing @arineeee @vanidewan & @offeringrain spin and curate joy for you all was so amazing to see

thank you to the @unveiled_nyc for inviting our community into your space to host this free event

much love to @kogohome always something special when we come together

and a HUGE thank you to @directedbyra for pulling up and surprising us with this edit taken in Unveiled New York by @directedbyra
