I love a challenge. Anytime we can do something interesting, you think your hands are tied behind your back, but in reality, it's just giving you an opportunity to think. #indiefilmmaking #indiefilm #cinematography #filmmaker #behindthescenes by @directorchristopher

I don't know if anybody else feels this way, but if it's not challenging, I get bored. I can still get everything I need for coverage, obviously, but I need a good challenge multiple times a day. #indiefilm #cinematography #filmmaking #behindthescenes by @directorchristopher

I miss the way movies used to look.

Before everything started feeling like a video game cutscene.

We’re making a feature film with almost nothing. Raw images. Raw performances. A story I actually want to see, and I know there are others who want to see it.

I’m up at 4:30 most mornings writing. This is the second of three films I’ve written this year and our second feature.

No permission. No waiting around.

Just make the movie.

Ride or die.

Follow along. We’re making this one from the ground up.

Sometimes the angle you want is right down on the deck.

Sony FX3 on a wedge, a hand picking up a lit cigarette, and a police car in the background. The rain gave us a nice little wet down. Always looking for a different perspective.

Follow for more behind the scenes from my work as a director and DP.

Getting the lens right down on the deck. A C-stand arm on the Dana Dolly lets me hang the Sony FX3 low or offset it when the shot calls for it. Simple setup, useful little trick.

A short documentary I made years ago about an Appalachian Trail hostel. Wish I would have been able to go back and keep documenting. Thought I'd share it. All shot by a crew of one (me) on my SR2 16mm. Looking forward to pulling it back out and experimenting soon. #cinematography #kodakfilm #16mm #documentary #indiefilm by @directorchristopher

Some years ago, I made a short TV pilot with some very talented friends from #ATLHOMICIDE.
And, now we’re sharing it with you on @YouTube as we develop the rest of the series..

Enjoy.
