POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Haven’t posted in a while but I’ve been busy beavering away nonetheless. As part of my new strategy since I’m now based in the North East, I just completed a short course @nfts.north covering Producing For Short Film with @jude_goldrei which was absolutely brilliant. Really helped consolidate my previous experience, understanding & skillset so that I can proceed with confidence in an exciting new direction. Time to take action & get films made. by @directordenham

7 years ago, I wrote the score to “Othello” which won Best Film Inspired by Shakespeare awarded by Sir Kenneth Branagh
🌟🌟🌟
Quite different music to my current song vibes as you can hear in this opening sequence to the film. ☺️
Thank you to @directordenham and @matthewemeny for the chance to write the score back then 🎼🎶

...and that's a wrap @britishfilminstitute London Film Festival 2018!! What an amazing experience attending informative & insightful industry panel discussions. Watching great new movies which tackled challenging & important issues. Meeting established industry figures. Shaking the hand of an Oscar winner. Learning about industry plans to tackle the barriers to entry for working class filmmakers & new talent training initiates. Networking with fellow filmmakers and finding potential new collaborators. Getting genuine advice & guidance about UK film production. And finally, coming away with the confidence that my focus and vision for filmmaking is absolutely spot on, and that I should keep hustling because my passion to influence & inspire positive change in the world by telling personal stories that engage an audience, is worth fighting for.

You never quite know how these things will play out, but it was a truly life changing experience that I can now confidently build on. 2019 is looking very exciting for @gobigpictures already... You absolutely have to believe that you are good enough & to keep fighting to make a difference in the world by influencing & inspiring others with your story.

Thanks to @bindleroadpictures for encouraging me to attend & hanging out during the festival 🙏

Exposing truths about the barriers to entry for working class filmmakers @britishfilminstitute #LFF18 this week. So happy this is finally getting some attention!! It’s an issue very personal to me that I’m passionate to champion. Filmmaking shouldn’t be just available to those who can afford it!! Stories are important to all of us & we all have value to share with others. Stories change lives!! It’s absolutely time for change 🙏 @gobigpictures will be playing it’s part!! #workingclassfilmmaking #entrepreneur #entrepreneurlife #entrepreneurship #entrepreneurmindset #timeforchange #filmmaking #filmproducer #storieschangelives #makeadifference by @directordenham

‘OTHELLO’ is a WINNER!! We won ‘BEST FILM INSPIRED BY SHAKESPEARE’ as awarded by Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, Royal Shakespeare Company & festival patron Sir Kenneth Branagh.

The quality of the films in competition was very high so I’m absolutely chuffed to win!! We even got some personal feedback from Sir Kenneth Branagh. Here are some quotes: “OTHELLO REALLY SITS SO VERY WELL IN THIS MODERNIST NOIR SETTING…” “GREAT ASSURANCE IN THE PERFORMANCES AND LEGITIMATE SURPRISES IN THE CASTING MAKE FOR A REALLY FRESHLY IMAGINED TALE…” “THERE IS A REAL CONFIDENCE TO THE DIRECTION…” “VISUALLY IMPRESSIVE AND EVEN LUSH, IT HAS GREAT MATURITY CINEMATICALLY…” A massive well done to all the cast & crew and everyone who supported the film.
