We’re very excited to be releasing our latest feature documentary film tonight at the Imperial Plaza Hotel, Juba.

The film follows rival armed youth groups walking through the wilderness to meet with one another in an attempt to put an end to the ongoing violence.

The film premieres at the Imperial Plaza Hotel, Juba on Wednesday 17th June TONIGHT at 16:00.

This is Monyor Ngacida of Pakam Section, Rumbek North County

In March 2025, we spent time with Dinka Agar communities in Lakes State to begin to capture some of the oral wisdom, tradition and history that has been past down through the generations. We were in a rush to meet with certain elders before their wisdom is lost forever - elders who were born before war.

The first civil war in Sudan began in 1955 and changed life for southern Sudanese forever. Our hope is that in sharing stories of the past, we will discover the wisdom needed to navigate the future.

Cattle camp life captured on film.

These photos were taken in across two cattle camps in Lakes State in 2025 at the end of the rainy season. We were welcomed with open arms, given all the milk we could drink and even fish from the river. The hospitality of the Dinka Agar cannot be surpassed.

A year ago this week I accompanied the Archbishop of Canterbury to South Sudan where we embarked on a ‘Pilgrimage of Peace’ with the Pope and the leader of the Church of Scotland. The trip would include the first ever jointly lead public prayer service by the heads of the Catholic and Anglican churches in their 700 year history.

We are pot dealers. It’s just a side hustle. 2 years ago we bought some bowls from a man called Danafabe in Abuja and the idea of @danafabehome was born.

We said our final goodbye’s to my mama yesterday. It was a joyful, hopeful day, full of colour. Legends from every chapter of mum’s story came to pack the room and remember her cheekiness, warmth, courage and faithfulness.

Cattle camp youth celebrate their first night as a re-unified group following years of violent infighting.

Now the Tiek, Akok, Ajiek and Door ‘Sections’ live together again on a sprawling cattle camp in Rumbek Central County.

With help from @pof.south.sudan and @peacecanal, the gelweng leaders have been meeting together regularly since 2020 to resolve their differences through talking instead of violence. Machar ‘Black’ Malier Mungu, one of the Rup section leaders, said ‘I was once known for bringing death. Today I am known for bringing peace.’

@davidnyuol says ‘What we found challenged every assumption. The young men who had been labelled as troublemakers were not rejecting peace, they longed for it.’

When my Granny died, I looked through her old photos and realised that the older the photo, the more poised, posed and beautiful the image. Taken in a studio on large format, or a carefully curated family holiday snap on 35mm. Later photos were far greater in volume, far lesser in intention, shot on a phone with half a thought.

Inspired by the old images, I bought my first film camera. Then, when Vicky and I got married, we decided to take a day to do an extra photo shoot. So, this is for treasuring every day moments …and for the grandkids.

Here are some BTS moments I caught on my Ricoh 35mm point and shoot.
