Four years in the making. Hundreds of artists onstage, backstage, side stage, under stage, back of house, front of house, workshops, boardrooms, side rooms, studios, warm up rooms ….. we are packing the house for this iconic work of profound humanity, humour, and deep political resonance. It’s rare I love one of my pieces so personally. But whatever happens, this collaboration has been a game changer. Special thanks to @operamrhein for navigating epic waters. Friends, if you anywhere about, I ask you to come see this one. It’s truly a labour of passion and hard, long work and such deep deep meaning for our times. Thank you, gods, for this one. Benjamin Britten‘s WAR REQUIEM embodies pacifism as an artistic stance. This anti-militarist, anti-nationalist memorial to remembrance has lost none of its significance in today’s political climate. In the coming season, director Daniel Kramer and artist Wolfgang Tillmans will be restaging their 2018 production for the Deutsche Oper Berlin. 200 Motels 🤘🎸 | Escapade psychédélique entre opéra, classique et rock    📍 Ce qui vous attend au BFM : Plus besoin de tout plaquer pour suivre votre rock band préféré, 200 Motels débarque avec perte et fracas à Genève. Journal de bord halluciné d’une tournée déjantée, Zappa égrène son laboratoire sonore au rythme d’une satire acide du show-business. Mockumentary de légende à l’esthétique surréaliste, sa narration éclatée démasque le chaos du rock des années 70.   👀 Une distribution de dingue : Aux manettes de cette fresque psychédélique, on retrouve le metteur en scène américain @directorkramer et @titus.engel.dirigent à la direction musicale. La soprano Brenda Rae et le baryton @rooobinadams ajoutent une intensité vocale inédite à cette partition aussi virtuose que déjantée.
