Grand Prix Special 2025
awarded to ESPEN SALBERG
for lifetime achievements

Presented during the Gala Ball of Le Bal du Prince, Saturday, 28th June

There are moments just made for a ceremony. Such was the atmosphere on Saturday, 28th June, at the Gala Ball of Le Bal du Prince, when the very first Grand Prix Special 2025 was awarded to the incomparable Espen Salberg, one of the greatest visionaries in dance world.

Espen’s competitive career earned him all major titles, including the World Championships in Professional Latin, but it is his unparalleled influence as a trainer, mentor, teacher and creative force that truly defines his legacy.

For over four decades, Espen has shaped not just dancers, but artists. His deep understanding of movement, music, and emotion has helped countless dancers to find their voice on the floor. Under his guidance, technique became artistry, and ambition became expression.

What sets Espen apart is his extraordinary aesthetic vision—a unique sensitivity to form, style, and storytelling. He has inspired dancers not only to perform but to feel, to create, and to move audiences around the world. His work has elevated dance to a level of pure artistry, leaving a significant impact on the scene and on all who had the privilege to learn from him, including Alla and myself.

To see Espen Salberg receive the Grand Prix Special at Le Bal du Prince was a moment of deep meaning—not just a celebration of a career, but of a lifelong dedication to beauty, aesthetic and the soul of dance.

Heartiest congratulations to ESPEN SALBERG🌟🌟🌟

✨ Before the trophies, the spotlight and the applause… there was a first dance.

❤️ Every great dancer has a moment where it all began.

🎙️ We asked @dirkbastert , international adjudicator at Dance Queen Trophy Georgia 2026, to take us back to his very first memories on the dance floor.

GERMAN MASTERS 2026 | KURHAUS WIESBADEN

October 11, 2026, at the historic Kurhaus Wiesbaden was a very special day for me and another important milestone in the development of the Masters Series.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who supported and contributed to this event.

My special thanks go to our national and international adjudicators, our Chairman, and all the officials whose experience, professionalism, and dedication played such an important role in making the German Masters a success.

What has meant particularly much to me is the overwhelmingly positive feedback I have received over the past few days from coaches, parents, and, above all, our dancers.

These many personal messages and conversations mean a great deal to me. They confirm my belief that we are moving in the right direction with the Masters Series.

My vision has always been to create events where competition is not the only focus, but where atmosphere, appreciation for every individual participant, and the joy of our shared passion for dance are equally important in a cultural environment.

Seeing this vision recognised and supported by so many people gives me even greater motivation to continue along this path.

Thank you all for your trust, your support, and the many wonderful personal encounters in Wiesbaden.

I look forward to everything we will continue to create together.

In Memory of Karl Breuer (1932–2026)

It is with deep sadness that I say goodbye to someone who meant so much to me and played such an important role in our lives.

Karl was my mentor, my coach and, above all, a wonderful human being with an extraordinary personality and an incredibly big heart.

With his passing, the world of dance has lost one of its most influential personalities. A World Champion, European Champion and remarkable leader who shaped generations of dancers and left an extraordinary legacy.

I tried to express my sadness, memories and gratitude in just a few words, but it was simply impossible. Too many stories, too many emotions and so much to be thankful for.

My complete personal tribute can be read in the following pages of this carousel.

Dear Karl, thank you for everything. Your legacy will live on, and your memory will always bring both tears and a smile.

Rest in peace, Dear Karl.

OFFICIAL MASTERS SERIES AMBASSADORS

We are proud to officially welcome Eduard Belyakov & Evgeniya Tkach to the Masters Series Ambassador Program, awarding them the highest level of support and recognition offered by the Masters Series.

Their national and international achievements include:

German Amateur Latin Champions
Four time German Youth Latin Champions
World Championship Youth Latin Bronze Medalists
Three time Youth World Cup Winners

But talent and results alone are not enough to reach the highest level of our Ambassador Program.

Ambition. Discipline. Commitment. Reliability.

Over the past two years, Eduard and Evgeniya have demonstrated these qualities and earned the confidence of the Masters Series Council, under the leadership of founder Dirk Bastert.

A significant part of their development belongs to their main coach Alla Bastert Tkachenko, who has accompanied and shaped the couple throughout their journey. Their international development has also been supported by Naira Markina and Yulia Musikhina, alongside other respected international coaches.

Their first international appearance supported through the Masters Series Ambassador Program took them to Jakarta, Indonesia, where they reached the Amateur Latin Final at both international competitions.

The Masters Series Ambassador Program is not only about recognizing what has already been achieved.

It is about investing in what can come next.

We look forward to supporting Eduard and Evgeniya on the next stage of their journey.

Welcome to the Masters Series Ambassador Family, Eduard & Evgeniya.

Would you like to become part of the Masters Series?

MEET THE CHAIRMAN | VLAD ZAPOLSKYI 🇺🇦

We are very happy to welcome Vlad Zapolskyi from Ukraine as Chairman of the German Masters 2026.

Vlad has already successfully taken the role of Chairman at several major Masters Series competitions. His clear, calm and professional work has given us full confidence to place this important responsibility in his hands again.

Despite his young age, Vlad understands the structure of a competition very well and knows exactly the responsibility that comes with this position. His focused way of working and his ability to keep everything under control make him a valuable part of our team.

The German Masters 2026 will already be his third event as Chairman for the Masters Series, and we are very happy that he has accepted this position again.

We have full confidence in Vlad and look forward to having him lead us through an exciting day in Wiesbaden.
